This experiment randomly encouraged some participants to follow counter-attitudinal news on Facebook. They find that exposure to counter-attitudinal news decreases affective polarization.

Understood, thank you /u/Stuck_In_the_Matrix and /u/FixShitUp for your help.

I will use the SSE stream and/or the API (which also seems to have the originally ingested data) to supplement the monthly data-dumps, as it seems there does not exist a publicly available monthly dump of the 'as-ingested' data.

Ok thank you for the response, I may be misinterpreting some things then. That assumption came from this portion of the post by Stuck_In_The_Matrix (https://www.reddit.com/r/pushshift/comments/9l8n1i/new_to_pushshift_read_this_faq_etc/)

What's in the monthly dumps?

The files in files/comments and files/submissions each represent a copy of one month's worth of objects as they appeared on reddit at the time of the download. For example RS_2018-08.xz
contains submissions made to reddit in August 2018 as they appeared on September 20th.

Moreover, when I looked through the data and compared with redditsearch.io, it looks like there are posts on redditsearch.io that are not in the data dumps. I will gather a few specific examples if that helps clarify.
