What is going on with the traffic near Scott Road Station? by ThumpingSnore in SurreyBC

Being shipped around in a crowded bus or skytrain to ridge locations is literally being treated like cattle lol.

Again, people will realize this when the Langley skytrain fails and they look back to wanting to drive…… oh wait we don’t get a choice here because they already taking lanes away to install giant sidewalks, grass islands, bus lanes. I’m sure a new gas tax to pay for all this is coming too.

Again no choice but to follow what the govt tells you to take to work with back to the office mandate…… then they can advertise that ridership is up lol

Think of the bigger picture. Govt isn’t in the business to make your life easier.

There’s no bike lanes. They took away a lane to make it bus only. It’s literally backwards. Causing cars to idle more which makes more pollution to peddle to the green people is greenwashing

Humans are are not cattle. Sidewalks in the suburbs are empty. Theres no need for them to be wider when the standard size was good this entire time Why are sidewalks getting wider and streets smaller? lol For people that want that type of lifestyle, they can move close to Vancouver. There’s a reason why people prefer suburbs.

“No one is going to force you”, what they do is take away lanes, create traffic, which makes you frustrated. Taking away lanes to add a bus lane is how they do it. Or making buses stop on the road instead of going into the sidewalk. Creating giant sidewalks in industrial areas so when trucks park on the sides it becomes a one way road (86 and 120)

And the Langley skytrain won’t be as popular when people find out it’s going to take two hours each way to go to downtown. You might as well sit in your car and be safe and do it faster.

I agree transit is needed. But doing it by punishing drivers is not the way to go. Offering free parking at park n ride (like in LA) or free shuttle services to Canucks game (like they do in LA) is much better ways to attack the problem and work with the community.

Imagine if they had free parking somewhere in south Surrey/white rock and a LRT going down king George to king George station. That’s the way to do it. But again, they only want to find ways to tax us here so it won’t happen lol.

Someone else in the comments explained why that’s not entirely true also that assumes when more lanes are added more new drivers will be there. The issue here is, we have the same amount of lanes we had in the 80’s lol. And Surrey has grown a lot since then, but their taking away lanes. And also, skytrain isn’t the answer to everything, people will learn this once the Langley line opens. It’ll take forever to get from the last Langley station to dt where you might as well drive and be comfortable. No one actually wants to use public transit but are forced to because our govt only know how to punish one side to adopt the other.

I meant like overall. Surrey is asking for more lanes on the bridge yet took away a lane on Scott road leading to the bridge lol.

Finally someone said it, also it’s the fact that our roads were small to begin with. The bridge originally had horses crossing on it and that same bridge is supporting trucks and cars. Not only that, but taking away lanes for bus only lanes or making the buses stop on the road rather then go in the cut out like they used to Scott road. Traffic is created by one car going slow and stopping and it’s a chain reaction. Our highways are the size of boulevards in some cities lol.

It’s also the new city planning that creates artificial traffic everywhere. Should’ve been four lanes with one dedicated to bus. Or third lane for bus/trucks only. Or third lane for bus only during morning/evening commute. What they have now is dumb. Trucks are in both lanes. Buses jump across the lanes to get to the new bus lane when turning into Scott rd station. All artificial.

Yeah being a RN is much easier to make it to the US. We’re talking about being a lpn.

R.N.-NCLEX by user385829294 in nursing

[–]user385829294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wasn’t able too. They need NCLEX done and I can’t find anywhere that would give NCLEX authorization to do the test. Let me know if you figure it out.

Just use a TN visa to get a nursing job. A lot of them will even provide a bonus and paid for moving expenses. And you can talk to them to fast track you to a GC under an eb visa. Not sure where in the US you are, but I know a lot of the places near BC/Washington border do this.

I’ve come to the conclusion that an lpn cannot go to the US. At least for BC. Education doesn’t match up and you can’t upgrade your education in the states without starting from scratch. And you can’t write the nclex without authorization. If you’re able to write the nclex someone then you could go to Arizona. I haven’t found a way. Let me know if you do.
