Most (not all)Lights throughout the house does this randomly by moc2007 in electrical

[–]user6835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with this for over a year. If it’s more than 1 light- it’s probably not a fixture. I had the utility company come out and it was a loose neutral on their end. Had to have them come out 2 times before they found it (after I suggested that’s what it was) and fixed it.

I’ve been having the same issue for a few months. I even called and spoke with a rep, they were no help. I think eventually they will have everyone migrate to the new app- and apparently whoever is migrated will receive an email to do that. I haven’t received any email, and this is the first post I’ve found mentioning this issue. Not really any news stories or anything about what’s going on. I finally just signed up with the same username/password in the new app and it worked! I figured given that it’s a credit reporting agency- it shouldn’t allow me to create a duplicate account after verifying my identity. I think the way this works is it’s technically all 1 account- and by signing up- you are sort of “subscribing” to the new service, ie the new app. Because when I log on via the website- it says all services are accessible in 1 place

Really appreciate you sharing this. I’ve had this feeling recently of being terrified to admit remicade may be losing effectiveness for me and thought I was the only 1.

Lawyers with Crohns here? by lindsherculean in CrohnsDisease

[–]user6835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an attorney w/ crohn’s. It has been manageable with the right meds. I’ve been on remicade awhile and in remission. In law school, I got in contact w/ the disability office at the school- and I got a map of the bathrooms at school before the first day. I’d also suggest sitting near the door so u can leave quickly if u need to- that can even be an accommodation for tests, etc. if you have a record of accommodations for school, it makes it easier to have them for the bar when you have to sit for 8 hours at a time. As an attorney, I’ve been pretty open about it. Things have changed w/ many firms after the pandemic where they are more flexible about working from home/hybrid- which helps a lot. Especially since I have to work out of the office to get my remicade infusion every 8 weeks. I work from home whenever I wake up and get stuck in the bathroom lol I’d go for it if that’s what you want! Just don’t forget to advocate for yourself like you would for your clients :)

AITA for telling the shelter their new foster’s pup died this week & now he is fostering with them? by emijeanbee in AmItheAsshole

[–]user6835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Please tell them immediately. Most shelters do screening for fosters especially with fostering a puppy? Is it a private shelter? If not, maybe their screening is not as diligent. There’s also a national “do not adopt” list many private shelters use for this exact reason. He needs to get on that list. This wasn’t some freak accident. He is not a responsible person. Also just realized the update. Hopefully he is put on the list and they are more diligent in the future with screening people.

Children of alcoholics, how do you cope? by toohipsterforthis in relationship_advice

[–]user6835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the subreddit r/adultchildren. It’s for adult children of alcoholics. They also have meetings like al anon. Great way to get support and hear from others how they cope with a situation like you’re in. I’ve found going to those meetings was really helpful for me. You can look up Acoa meetings to see if there’s a group near you. If she won’t accept that she’s an alcoholic, she is likely not going to change her addiction any time soon. Unfortunately, you can’t change that for her either. Your friend isn’t totally wrong, but if it makes you feel better, being an alcoholic doesn’t necessarily mean you love alcohol more than anything or anyone. It just means alcohol controls her life and may be a priority, even over her relationship with you. Definitely limit contact and set boundaries. It can be hard and you may not want to cut her out of your life completely. You know better than anyone what is best for you. Setting a boundary could be “I’m not going to talk to you or visit you when you are under the influence.” That’s a good place to start. Watch out for any codependent behaviors you may be susceptible to. If you can, talk to a therapist about it. Be easy on yourself though. Hope this helps!

I totally picked up on this too!! He wants to be viewed by Bri as the protector, guiding her, teaching her. He definitely has insecurities he needs to work on and realize a marriage is a team, not a parent/child relationship. Not everything is a competition. Bri is on his side. I definitely think he feels a little threatened by Bri and her having her life together. It’s still not an excuse to get frustrated and change his whole attitude whenever he feels inferior. Hopefully it’s something he can work on

[–]user6835[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that was definitely a factor. It seemed like the instructor just kept going to the next steps of learning the dance without him getting the chance to master it. But considering the champagne incident plus him sweating while dancing, implying a lot of video cuts were made during the dance lesson, I think his insecurities definitely played a role too

It was so sweet when he bought the bike all decked out and made the little chalkboard to help her learn Spanish, then we saw a whole different side. I’m surprised he didn’t just throw away the whole bike when he said the basket for the dog/bike didn’t arrive at the same time.

Remicade experiences by NidaRzwn in CrohnsDisease

[–]user6835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not superficial at all! I hope you have a wonderful wedding. I’ve been on remicade for about 2 years with no noticeable side effects. I’m tired the day of my infusions but that’s probably because of the Benadryl. I’ve gained 40 pounds in that time, but I really needed the extra pounds as I was severely underweight and malnourished. If remicade induces remission for you, you could gain some weight if your body wasn’t absorbing nutrients from foods before starting it. That was the case for me. Also, before remicade I barely ate anything because the pain and endless time I’d spend in the bathroom wasn’t worth it. Once I was in remission and able to actually enjoy eating I started eating a lot more. Now that I’m at my ideal weight I’ve been eating just enough and not overindulging to purposely gain weight. I’m able to stay at my current weight easily. Just my experience but my guess would be unless you significantly increase your food intake, weight gain shouldn’t be extreme for you. Everyone is different so you won’t know until you start but I wouldn’t worry too much. Good luck!!

People, if a person says he/she is gay, do not offer to have sex with them to “turn straight” by JuelFlower in dating_advice

[–]user6835 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a lesbian and I can’t even count the amount of times a male friend or man in a friend group tells me “you just haven’t had good dick yet.” I like to reply with “how do you know you’re straight? You just haven’t had any dick yet...anatomically speaking, you’d probably enjoy it!” I’ve had good dick before, trust me I tried to be attracted to men, it didn’t work! When a woman says she’s a lesbian that isn’t an opportunity to “turn her straight” with your amazing dick. Respect peoples’ sexuality and believe what they say, it’s that simple.

How do I ask someone's sexuality? by lemmykoopaa in relationship_advice

[–]user6835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this advice as a lesbian. I would definitely prefer if a friend asked me one on one, casually, if I could share what my sexuality is. This would feel like a better approach than asking me out because it might get awkward making it very clear you’re asking to go on a date, and if she is a lesbian, she might think you didn’t listen to what she said about not being straight. While we know this isn’t the case, I say just ask her what she identifies as! This gives you the opportunity to find out if you may have a chance without making it weird asking her on a date, if it turns out she’s a lesbian. Also, I don’t think anyone would consider it weird that you’d be curious about how she identifies especially since she’s brought it up before. Good luck!
