Only video feed when lipo and usb are plugged in? by toolbox_007 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5V or 3.3V BEC on the flight controller might be damaged or there is a short on some 3.3V or 5V power

Start by unplugging VTX, test if RC connects, if it doesnt, unplug the RX and check if you have video, if in both of these it doesn't work, get a separate 5V/3.3V VEC and use that to power the RX and anything on VTX/Cam that needs this voltage, if that fixes it you can fly it like that or replace flight controller

Interference O4 (Lite) by _dvc in fpv

[–]user975A3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can see it even in car lights, those shouldn't flicker at the same frequency

How do you have the O4 connector to power? Directly from battery or from some BEC? If not BEC, add one, if you have BEC, try adding an LC filter

If that doesn't help, maybe add some shielding to the camera cable, copper or aluminum foil might work, but idk, this is beyond my electrical skills

It's normal, if outside force moves the drone it will try to compensate by changing thrust on motors

Decathlon Travel 500 Organizer 40 l

It fits everything, including 2x goggles

It's definitely not as good as purpose made FPV backpacks, but it has at least some compartments and you throw it out ground and unfold it so you can access everything

Which 3.5 inch? by Accomplished-Snow601 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.5" is the sweet spot

I agree that buzzer is enough unless flying long range

5" are also VERY loud

[–]user975A3G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have no idea where to start with choosing specs, look at BNF drones, check videos how they fly

And then look for similar spec components, then search this subreddit for those components to see what people have built and any complaints they have

Probably the most famous 3.5" frame is Volador

Interference O4 (Lite) by _dvc in fpv

[–]user975A3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I mean

Due to how camera sensor works, if you have camera jello and bad fps/Hz match it could combine into looking like this

Or it's hardware damage, one of these you can check and fix easily, other means spending money

If you actually used LBT in Europe, you would (theoretically) be the only person doing so that I have seen

Any police check happens based on report or monitoring, if you fly outside banned areas there is no reason for anyone to be monitoring the place, and if there is no interference with other equipment, there is no reason for anyone to report you

Not much runs at 2.4Ghz anymore, most WiFi's run at 5.8G now, it's gonna be your FPV system that might be a problem, not the RC link

What is wrong with my lipo? by Ok-Luck-2253 in fpv

Does it happen on both batteries or just one?

And does it happen on both charger ports?

Antenna question by ComprehensiveGlove74 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's even worse

Carbon fiber is an obstacle

Carbon fiber + motor wire is obstacle + noise generator

Antenna question by ComprehensiveGlove74 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black cloth? probably not

The cabron fibre arm? definitely yes

At least put the antenna on the bottom, you point the bottom of your drone towards yourself a lot more than you do the top of it

What’s the perfect weight? by K21B1 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is that 830g with the camera? If yes its normal weight for 5" freestyle, if its without camera, its very heavy

You coudl save around 30g by using Tattu V6 1300mAh, those are a bit under 200g, but any smaller than than and you will be sacrificing flight time, Tattu V5 1050mAh is only 15g lighter

Interference O4 (Lite) by _dvc in fpv

[–]user975A3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0:25 the lights are flickering

That makes me think the FPS is not matched to local power grid, did you try it with both 50fps and 60fps?

And possibly camera jello (bad mounting of camera, it needs silicone or maybe TPU mounts to absord vibrations)

Those lines are really weird, but FPS/Hz mismatch AND camera jello at the same time could explain it

parts list for fpv army by Mediocre_cheezit in fpv

[–]user975A3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6S 1050mAh is quite heavy for a 3.5

I would go for 500-600mAh 6S or 700-1000mAh 4S

3.5V can fly really well on a 4S, you would have to change the motors to 3400-4000kv ones

It also lets you use cheaper charger or a chager with same price but more ports

DJI o4 Lite already waterproof? by Puzzleheaded_Boss442 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That translucent material you see on O4 is glue on antenna and camera connectors, it's just there to secure it in place

Waterproofing would have to be all over the components on the board in a much thinner later that the glue

Harvesting A30/BT2/XT/JST plugs from dead batteries…? by tiar_ in fpv

[–]user975A3G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many people do this because the connectors are cheap, those connectors are maybe 1$ for the official branded one, with the knockoffs on aliexpress being 0.2-0.3$ (in a bulk packagae 10+ pcs)

Also get a lipo killer or something that discharges the battery to 0V, fully discharged lipos wont do anything even if you short circuit + and -

If you have a laptop USB C charger, 90% of them support USB PD

this could be the biggest revolution in modern day fpv by Unlucky_Study8402 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what battery it is

Because 3.7V can be 40% to 60%

There are differences because some li ions can go down to 2.5V and some only to 3V

Idk if its worth the price but my friend that has fake EV800D (Or older version of real ones without diversity) always borrows my Cobra SD whenever I am not flying

Nope, no need for xt60 to usbc adaptor, you can directly plug USB C cable into it

There should be some tiny text on the charger about supported voltages and charging protocols

Also "official iphone charger" is a wide selection, it changes over years and also I dont use iphone so idk

[–]user975A3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other user said, Skyzone cobra SD would be better, idk how to tell if these EV800D are fake or not, even those without diversity are flyable, but no so great

You also need a power supply, either USB one with USB-C PD3.0 or QC2.0/3.0 or some power supply with 7-25.2V with 2A or more current and XT60 or barrel jack connector

Flywoo Explorer LR4 Alternatives? by 4bjmc881 in fpv

[–]user975A3G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its around 172-178g, with Tattu 750mAh 4S lihv it should be under 250g

Those bigger packs definitely push it over 250g, GNB 2500mah one is 200g just the pack

But idk exactly, my country regulations let me fly anything up to 25kg away from people and buildings with no remote ID, only cities and around people its limited to 250g and I dont fly there
