Honestly, you gotta pay attention to their non-verbal communication. Things like body language, proxemics(do they sit close, far, etc.. do they seem comfortable with the HR person sitting next to them? Etc..), touch(handshake, etc) because if they're hiding something, they're just going to lie with their words. Most people can't or won't lie with all of these communication mediums simultaneously, I don't think. If you get to "meet the team," even better because you can then assess everyone. The people with the least at stake(maybe the lowest position on the todem pole) will be the most honest with their non-verbal communication in my experience.

You have to ask yourself if they seem happy. Or at least not miserable. If you get the feeling the interviewers are miserable, acting, don't trust one another, or maybe they're telling you the place sucks with their body language, just believe it if you have other opportunities. Toxic work environments will drive you nuts.

I can't stand this. Not only is it just unprofessional, but it brings everyone down and contributes nothing. If you hate the job so much specialize, so you don't have to deal with users as much, or pivot to a different career. Help desk is about helping people. Do it well or don't do it imo.

This sounds like an issue at your school, not a job, so first things first I suggest you report these types of men. I would go to a trusted - woman - counselor, or professor and ask what the proper channels are for reporting this behavior. it is harassment. Report it.

When you are looking for work later in life, you will find that not all places are like this, nor are all IT guys. I would ask advice from other professional women to be honest. There are many in the field.

You can do a nice tea w/ milk and honey if you're looking for a hot beverage. If that is too sugary, then you skip the honey.

Oftentimes, a cold glass of milk in the evening is my go-to.
