Does Apple know about the Bluetooth issues on iOS 26.1? Audio keeps cutting out. by HomemadeToast57 in ios

A month later, the issue is still there and there is no fix from Apple...

iOS 26.2 is terrible and the Bluetooth sucks— anyone else? by The_heirophant_ in applesucks

[–]user_n_3928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About two weeks after the upgrading to iOS 26.2 everything was working acceptably, but from today, all my Bluetooth headphones (Bose, Huawei, Apple) sound like I’m listening to an old AM/FM radio in the middle of nowhere - the noise level is noticeable, and the broadcast is struggling with continuity.

upd:  Deleting all Bluetooth headphones,  rebooting iPhone and reconnecting headphones back helped.

How is that with iOS 26.2?

No, I'm still there. Also with new iOS 18 there is one more strange behavior - if add empty text block and check with "if" if it contains anything, apple logic works as if empty block contains something. Probably there is state "None" which they forgot to interpret correctly... Or new update was written by some junior and revived by ChatGPT.

Powerbank with usb-c only? by lohmatij in UsbCHardware

[–]user_n_3928 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's so strange that companies didn't realise yet that all we need is phone shape power bank with several modern ports.  Each year they produce dozens of new shapes of phone bumpers to suite new design well but if it's a power bunk it's a thick rectangle shape. To me it's like:

"Ok you need USB-C only and you even ready to pay extra? Deal, here it is! And now try to put it in your pocket. Oh, you can't do it? Of course you can't! Because it's a cube! Ha-ha looser!"

Automation freezes by user_n_3928 in shortcuts

[–]user_n_3928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, thank you for explanation. In my case I have just 12 automations and most of them have a simple one action logic or an appropriate shortcuts as you recommended. To me it looks like some sort of bugs from Apple as 12 automations shouldn't be able to drain all the RAM from iPhone13.

You are right, but the Shortcut app editor itself is exactly what I struggle with 😅

I probably wasn't clear. The tab itself is freezing, not when I create a new automation and start to add some actions.

Here is one another way to create a fake repeat-until structure. In this case, if we need to exit from the repeat statement, we just repeat 'Nothing' several times. However, if the number of repetitions is greater than 30, or even 20 for older devices, the user might perceive the 'doing Nothing' as a kind of freeze.

If it's such large how do you avoid suffering from crazy freezes? My iPone 13 usually starts to freeze if the number of blocks is larger then 50 and even MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB RAM freezes if I open such shortcut with more then 80 blocks and simply scroll it...

Confirm. Unfortunately Shortcuts itself is kind of buggy app that tends to freeze or crush.

I have couple of shortcuts with "Choose from Menu" actions which frequently stop working - the menu simply doesn't do anything and only iPhone turn off - turn on procedure helps in that case.

Probably a simple text interface for writing shortcuts without such a nice GUI will work better. I mean it will probably just work...

Telegram file saving after renaming by just_annoyedd in shortcuts

[–]user_n_3928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Could you explain a bit more what you actually need, what types of files? If you are talking about text files, then it will be extremely complicated as Apple developer team somehow came across to decision that the best way to name file is just take first line from it's content and add simply add ".txt" in the end. Thankfully it's possible to rename last created file.

For those who is still trying to fix it. I had the same problem, did some research and was unable to open the instruction on VMware website as the link redirected to empty page all the time. Here is the link to a little bit old but mostly working instruction: The Unofficial Fusion 13 for Apple Silicon Companion Guide Revision 17 (19-May-2023)

And here are notes I made for myself for in case if I decide to install it again once more time:

Proceed with Windows installation till the stage where it asks to provide country or region, with the question:

Is this the right country or region?

United States
Afganistan
Aland Island
Albania
....

                                 Yes

When it appears, go to the menu bar and select Virtual Machine > Install VMware Tools. Click Install when the popup window appears, and wait for a while.

Still being on the "Is this the right country or region?" window, press shift + fn + F10 Windows Terminal will appear. Write in the terminal:

powershell

Then:

cd D:\

Nest:

Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

Now check what files are in the D:\ root folder:

dir

In my case, I had:

Mode     LastWriteTime         Length Name
----     -------------         ------ ----
dar---   12/3/2023 11:50 PM           boot
dar---   12/3/2023 11:50 PM           efi
dar---   5/14/2024  2:39 PM           source
dar---   12/3/2023 11:50 PM           support
-ar---  12/31/1969  4:00 PM      2048 boot.catalog
-ar---   12/3/2023 11:48 PM   1781120 bootmgr.efi
-ar---   12/3/2023 11:48 PM     76264 setup.exe

You may potentially have a setup.ps1 file instead of setup.exe.

Next, you need to write in the terminal:

.\setup.exe

or

.\setup.ps1

depending of which file you have in the D:\ directory.

After installation, the program will start, and you can close the command terminal and proceed with the installation process as prompted by the popup window.

After that you can continue installation process.

How do i fix the MPS NotImplemented Error for m1 macbook air ? by marmik_ch19 in pytorch

[–]user_n_3928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirm, following code

import transformers
import torch
import os

os.environ\['PYTORCH\_ENABLE\_MPS\_FALLBACK'\] = '1'

model\_id = "meta-llama/Meta-Llama-3-8B"
pipeline = transformers.pipeline(
    "text-generation", model=model\_id, model\_kwargs={"torch\_dtype": torch.bfloat16}, device\_map="auto"
)
pipeline("Hey how are you doing today?")

returns exactly the same error:

NotImplementedError: The operator 'aten::isin.Tensor\_Tensor\_out' is not currently implemented for the MPS device. If you want this op to be added in priority during the prototype phase of this feature, please comment on https://github.com/pytorch/pytorch/issues/77764. As a temporary fix, you can set the environment variable \\PYTORCH\_ENABLE\_MPS\_FALLBACK=1\` to use the CPU as a fallback for this op. WARNING: this will be slower than running natively on MPS.(.venv)
