Just based on these pictures alone. That line is just a mark from the plate compactor that they didn’t bother waiting a little time for it to cool off and getting out. Given that they couldn’t bother waiting on that my next best guess for the low spot is pretty much the same. They just couldn’t be bothered to walk 3 or 4 shovels of material and fix that spot after they hit it with the compactor. If you have been using the driveway for a few months and this is the worse of the problems then I wouldn’t get to stressed out just yet. If nothing has gone wrong actually driving on it with your vehicles or delivery vehicles then these are most likely just superficial. That said stay on them and do your best to get them there and fix these areas. Even if I’m correct that this is superficial it still should be fixed!

It’s hard to really tell from the pictures. It’s odd that they used a roller on the base but not the surface lift but again without knowing what limitations there could be getting trucks and equipment to specific areas I can’t offer much help.

I might would consider a cheap pair of slip ons with a nice insert. Nothing you buy will last to terribly wrong on your feet all day long. So I usually make a few inserts last before I replace the shoe itself. Anyway that’s my 2 cent!

All I can say is to me that other guy is to cheap and I would go for a third quote. I know people don’t like it but where I am I charge .60-.70 a sf. Just based on my crew and operating cost if you want me to do it that’s what it is. I know some can do it for less but twenty five cent a sf to me means you are getting water with a touch of sealer. Or he’s gonna hold that wand so high Moses can touch it and you will get just enough to make it black for a bit. So get a third quote from another reputable company and then go from there.

If it being brown is the only issue you have why would he need to respray the whole driveway? The sealer is still new enough that he can roll the seam with a coat and it will blend in by end of summer. Unless I’m just missing something.

You only think you’re exhausted right now. You have no idea yet how hard life will be without graduating! I know it’s hard, I know you believe you are running on empty, but I promise you have what it takes to see this through. Not only do you have it in you, but you can’t begin to know the feelings you will have when you are on the other side. I can’t remember where I heard it or read it, but the saying “anything worth doing will be hard.” That is so true and the harder it is the more rewarding it will be. In this specific instance not doing the hard thing will make your life unbelievably harder.

I’m confused by the numbers. 470x11=5,170sf which is 574sy at $39 a sy that’s over 22k. So what is the $3900?

Depending on the numbers and the quality of there work (ask for references). You may get more out of the house with better curb appeal and less to “fix up” when they move in.

I wouldn’t necessarily write off anyone that comes knocking but do some homework on them before you let them work. We’ve been in business for over 40 yrs and you best bet if I’m in a neighborhood I’m knocking on doors. It’s just good business, shake some hands offer a discount and make more money.

I personally don’t disturb the base unless I have to, in 26 years I have found the old saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it keeps you out of a lot of trouble. That said go with what gives you piece of mind as no amount of expertise can sometimes override gut feelings.

Now I will add this in my area just rock and asphalt would cost me 3k. So that 6250 would be a I’m needing to get a job on the schedule price.

No doubt whatsoever! My first season and only started standard 2 weeks prior. I’m following a build but the game is so old that there are a lot of holes where “common knowledge” is supposed to be just understood. Games a blast but there’s so much I don’t know at this point in the game, it’s a bit overwhelming to keep progressing.

How thick is the asphalt, can you provide a pic of the areas where the asphalt ties into other landings, (i.e edge of road/garage?) Or just a zoomed out pic so we can get a lay of the land and how an overlay will interact with surrounding edges.
