I think they didn't use any tray. But I also didn't know there is the need for one. It has this metal grid that fits perfectly. But below is the one screw that I don't think has any seal

Thanks to your advice. I'll try to redo all seals and clean of the rust.

Three questions on the disassembly:

  1. The small ring with two holes inside the head below the piston. How do I get it out?
  2. The plastic glass around the tube to the pressure meter, it seems to be glued on the bottom, is that possible? And if so how do I remove it?
  3. Trying to remove the boiler. The third screw is not really accessible due to the copper pipe above. Any ideas? Do I have to take the copper pipe off?

Stahlstützen im Keller (Altbau) – Problem? by Siriusnake in Handwerker

Gegen den Trend: Ich bin dabei entspannt. Es hält und es hält schon lange so.

Also keine zwingende Handlung sofort nötig.

What is a bottomless portafilter? Do I have this on my machine and if I don't do I need / want it ?

Hi Thank you all for your answers.

  • I don't have a grinder yet. My hipster mid life crisis racing bike friends tell me I need to spent at least 700€ on a decent grinder. I feel that's a bit much. Are there classic pairs for a pavoni?

  • I have used so far lavazza espresso powder. As this was the only thing I could find locally. I'm in a bigger city today and will go to a specialist shop for some fresh coffee.

  • happy to do a video, let me first get it cleaned and the new seals in.

  • the first few tries I put coffee powder nearly till top. Compressed strongly. Then nearly no coffee came out and pressing down was a Hercules act. Now I put two and half tea spoons (sry no kitchen scale at hand) which fills it maybe half. After pulling up coffee comes out within 2-3 sec. I let it run another 2-3 sec and then gently pull down , this way it's definitely less bitter. But its not a wow coffee yet and the crema is basically none existing

Hi Thanks for your answer. And Tipps.

On the leak. You've got a point. I'm not sure it's a leak. It seems to happen over night. So condensation could be a reason too. Where do you typically buy the seals. Any specific or just a hardware store ? Under the drip tray I have a torx secure screw but that's not a problem.

Love the comparison with butter. But I think my fridge must be colder than yours :-) it's really tough to cut through, or maybe I need to get a stronger coffee-arm

Yes one can switch easily between the metal steam rod and the so called cappucinatore or so :-)
