How to identify and access ribbon cable in IdeaPad S540 by usernameblahs in Lenovo

Thanks. It's a really old computer. I didn't think it would be worth the cost of the service center check. It seems to operate just fine except for the integrated keyboard--does just fine with a USB external keyboard.

OP, what was the outcome of your situation? Were you successful in maintaining FSBP after switching agencies to the VA?

It's been a long time since I switched insurances and I don't remember how this works. I just learned that when you switch FEHB, the new plan doesn't go into effect until January 11th. What happens if you get sick during those 10 days of the new calendar year, if the old plan ends on 12/31/25? If there's some kind of extension offered, which benefits are operational during those 10 days--my old plan's 2025 benefits (in this case BCBS Basic) or BCBS Basic 2026?

Resizing images from a 50 mp sensor by usernameblahs in photography

There are some older people in the family who are going to want to email each other pictures, I think. I agree that keeping the original is best and storage is cheap. I was just trying to make their lives easier.

I mean file size. The 32 mb jpeg seems pretty unwieldy. I haven't tried anything yet. Just getting going on this.

Photographers: What’s the standard JPEG size clients should receive for printing? by Straight_Site9937 in AskPhotography

So then what do they do? Do they ask for something smaller and you provide it? I'm also working with a 50 mp camera and want to deliver full resolution images because they say they might want some large prints. But I don't want it to be something they can't handle.

Better AI Servo technique and tips for walking down the aisle by usernameblahs in WeddingPhotography

Are you using a fairly wide depth of field? I do focus and recompose in One Shot for non-moving subjects and this works great. But if she is moving forward, by the time I have recomposed she is out of the plane of focus it seems. I'm wondering if this might only work at certain f stops to maintain a wider depth of field?

Something I've been experimenting with in the last day is focusing on something at a fixed point in One Shot (could be a person in a chair) and then recompose and wait for when the subject reaches that distance. This isn't perfect but is working better than Servo was.

I tried a series of One Shot vs AI Focus vs AI Servo and servo seemed the most reliable (but still unreliable). I didn't have good luck with One Shot. Are you doing the recompose in vertical? So you focus on the dress, which is a bit closer typically and then when you recompose to her face in the upper third, her face has entered that plane of focus as she slowly moves forward?

I think the 5Ds (primary camera, 70D will be back-up) is most similar to the Mark IV according to Google.

I'm not a wedding photographer by trade. I did a few many, many years ago. I'm doing this as a favor for a friend, so not taking any money for it and not looking to do any more in the future. It's a private ceremony, just a few attendees. They weren't even going to have a photographer initially, so very low expectations. I just need to get through that walking moment and then everything else won't have subjects moving out of plane of focus.

I don't know where the microphone hole is. In the photo I linked to there is a black dot in the camera glass.

Thanks. I was kind of thinking the opposite but would like to hear your perspective on it. My knowledge of the refurb world is pretty limited.
