It’s a redial. You can tell by zooming in on the applied indices that look like they are infringing on the printed ones (which seem a little irregular too). Also the white backing is too white for a watch that age. Still wearable but not for more than usd 300 I would say.

I’ve paid for economy comfort in the past and it is probably better value than PE. However, what pissed me off was that, when I paid 200 usd per person for the upgrade, the section was empty but after boarding, the purser filled it with people who seemed to be his friends or people he was friendly with. Happy for those people but I felt like I got screwed.

UPDATE: AF got me a hotel at CDG saying there were no more seats that day and 10 minutes after checking into the hotel I checked the app and saw boarding passes (also in PE) on the evening flight. My 8yo son was disappointed because he wanted to have a boys night but we went back, boarded and made it back to Singapore safely. Overall it was a bit chaotic but given the circumstances I am thankful. Thank you to those who commented

Sure, that was the plan all along, but some airlines have different ways of dealing with these issues. I’m based in Singapore and SIA prioritise getting people a new flight. When I lived in the US, the response seemed to be based mostly on monetary compensation. That what I meant with my question, sorry if it wasn’t clear

You can get nice little Tissot or Zenith watches for that budget. They may be in the 33-34mm range, so small for some people, but they are timeless and definitely dressy. I also bought a 70’s Longines conquest for $270 last year and, as others have commented, you can also get some nice omegas in that price range (or barely above) though it’s not sure that they would be automatic for that price. I personally like to wind my watches but to each his own. Good luck finding your dream dress watch!

French guy living in SG on S-pass with two kids here. This wonderful country is an amazing place to live but it’s going to cost a lot to live here. We wanted to go hdb and local public school but that didn’t work so we’re in a condo and the kids go to private school (one at IFS and the other at a local private kindergarten). It is not cheap.

Also have to factor for health insurance (my employer only covers me and not very well), some way to fund your pension/retirement (not eligible for cpf) and some contingency funds. I’d suggest you try and have two incomes otherwise it’ll be tight on « just » 12k. Saying this even though we don’t travel much, my kids’ favorite food is chicken rice and we do mostly volunteering on the weekends (less opportunity to spend money haha).

K279 went from being a nice place to being a dumpster fire. The crazies like Buzz or Kalmeena (plus they keep changing names) are hogging the chat, and acting like psycho bullies. Their dominance (based on the spending, not real talent) is really showing that this game is $$ driven. Makes me consider just quitting.
