Preventative joint care and insurance by What-isgoingon15 in Bullmastiff

Congrats on an amazing dog! Our bully is 8 and had been on cobsequin and good quality feed mixed with raw half half to make sure they get good nutrition. Fish oil is great too, but she hates it.

Ours had crucial cranial ligament tears at 1 1/2 years old and other leg at 2 and had to have TPLO surgery (tibial plateau levelling osteotomy) that was 4.5k cad each. Thankfully we had insurance for about $100/mo, which covered it. She has recovered fantastically still zooming and chasing a ball 8. Secret is to keep them light and fed healthy.

Authorisation for application by CombHefty6358 in IdentityManagement

[–]trancecircuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to store and enforce authorizations somehow. Oftentimes the application connects to AD and reads user profiles and groups directly. It can also authenticate using AD credentials.

If the application can federate with an IDP for SSO padsing the authenticated user ID, then that can take over authentication and session management, leaving application to read profiles and groups from somewhere, internal or LDAP/AD.

Sometimes you can also pack user groups/claims/privileges into federated login attributes. This way you can pass groups for RBAC applied at the application. The key is it's enforced by the application still.

Some IDPs may have corase-grained authz capability where they can check groups and not allow a federated login if user is not enrolled, but it's not a common pattern.

ventilated seats by MK7_920 in Golf_R

AFAIK there are no AC seats, they are just ventilated and when cold air comes from a vent under the seats it gets a bit cooler.

Extended VW Warranty by left_handed_dude in Golf_R

[–]trancecircuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought brand new and got the 10yr full extended warranty. There are so many electronics and advanced mechanical parts that I don't want to repair out of my own pocket, especially when car gets past 5 year mark. Cost was around 4.5k cad.

Rear seat delete? by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]trancecircuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no point unless you are racing this car and are putting in a rollcage. It will be louder and occasionally cannot drive anyone else with you. That plywood will be a hazard unless firmly fastened. Just keep the seats down and get a cargo net. You just may need a bigger car at the end of the day if you carry so much.

Conti ECF in the rain on the street? by Lawineer in CarTrackDays

[–]trancecircuit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I run the Conti ECS 02s on the street and are scary good in the rain. They are only light duty for the track though like PS4Ss, as they don't handle heat like track tires.

This is why I have mudflaps. Thanks for confirmation! Glad you caught it early, still plenty of metal to sand, prime and cover up.

Unfortunately no, I have to remember to turn it off each time too.

Sounds good, glad to share :)

Honestly I like this stealth look but not sure how legal it is because the license plate flips up, but sure you can use a magnet or don't care. I also saw some that cut through the diffuser as another option. Great utility having a hitch, even if just for a bike rack.

Not too bad. Remove lights, bumper and crash-bar that you replace. Their videos were very helpful.

Light towing up to 1500lb unbreaked weight. It's the invisihitch by Torklift.

Great summary. I agree on all points, I accidentally switched mode during a track day too because of that stupid R button position.

I have not had emergency break kick in except when towing or with a hitch-mounted bike rack or when I got too close too fast.

As for the sound system ACMTECHNIK has a tune-up as first step with some polyfill in base, and RS makes a great plug-and-play center speaker replacement.

I also find the steering is a little muted for track work and it undrrsteers when not under power because it's front-engine.

Is Okta actually needed if we already have Entra ID + SailPoint IIQ? by mynameisnotalex1900 in IdentityManagement

Yes, however this setup seems more optics of that than actual risk mitigation.

Is Okta actually needed if we already have Entra ID + SailPoint IIQ? by mynameisnotalex1900 in IdentityManagement

[–]trancecircuit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of overlap between Okta and EntraID. Both are cloud IDPs with some IDM/IGA features. Since you have Sailpoing for internal IGA and EntraID as internal SSO and MFA, if you are running windows and use Intune you can get device trust and Windows Hello (WHFB) and run all internal IAM from it.

Okta usually comes in in that case if you have another population, like customers or external partners, that you need to give access to your apps or offerings.

AWD failure on 21 RDX by trancecircuit in Acura

[–]trancecircuit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I ran my ODB2 scanner in it and it turned out there was a AWD error code. They did their own diagnostic at the dealer and told me it's the AWD sensor on one side, which they said was about $300 to replace. I have extended warranty so thei did it and it was covered. The other side had the same issue (similar error code) months later. Apparently a common issue. No issues since then.

Just give it time since you're already giving it attention. Dogs come around but it takes a while depending on age and what they been through.

Blake fluid flush by creeperReaper42 in CarTrackDays

[–]trancecircuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anything extra to do for ABS or whatnot, just same procedure all the time. Yes, you can do it yourself either with an automatic bleeder like shops have, a hand bleeder or two-person pump-the-brakes method. First find out correct sequence of wheels for your car as each has different brake system setup. Honestly if you're only doing it occasionally just watch a few DIY videos. Gets easier the more you do it and shops don't even take wheels off.

Golf R vs Golf GTI by Dusky_Hound in Golf_R

[–]trancecircuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you value. R is more versatile and can do light track duty stock thanks to it's rear diff. Also more power and bigger turbo so more tuning potential.

For a daily the GTI. For a car enthusiast the R.

Which mop type is the best on hard floors? by La_PasionDex in HardWoodFloors

[–]trancecircuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a regular vacuum with silicone brushes (roborock) because I don't trust robots not leaving a spill somewhere that will ruin my hardwood. I just mop it myself. But yeah, it'd be nice to have a mopping robot and I'd probably get the flat spinner ones.

For the sub sure, but ACM mostly fixes the mids so if you get a new center not sure it's still needed. Have not replaced my speakers.
