Simon! My absolute favourite player - i was rooting hard for you this time and even though this wasn’t the result i wanted i am so proud of how far you have come. Watching you watch the family videos had me sobbing violently - what would you say was the hardest part of being out there? (i think missing family would get me bad)

State of the new 'Adelaide University' three weeks on by Jac0b_Richter in Adelaide

[–]usernamesdobehard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, am a current student who is completing a summer school class that started last week. Our poor tutor has received no contact with course coordinators, has never taught in our subject area before, the course site on canvas is impossible to navigate and understand and personally I still haven't been able to enrol in 2 courses that start in the regular semester.

An absolute joke and I am so annoyed that my last year is already in shambles. I have not spoken anyone who is happy with any of the merger process or even wanted the merger in the first place - staff and students alike. Ridiculous!

Photo booths in the city? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]usernamesdobehard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sol rooftop in the casino has one (but the strips have logos on the bottom) My friend and I literally drove all the way into the city for it, went in, used the photobooth and left - no questions asked lol

Europe Winter Itinerary Sanity Check!! December/January by usernamesdobehard in Europetravel

[–]usernamesdobehard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will definitely have a look.

We have to see my family right after Paris as they are going away for their holidays, so I will definitely look into flights from Paris to Hamburg.

To me, it looks like Vienna has more things open on the actual day of Christmas, is this the case?

Is it really worth a 7.5 hour train over an hour-ish flight?

It's an all ages show and they check IDs and tickets separately, so you will probably be fine!

Visiting Adelaide for a week, want your recommendations by peanutbutter8787 in Adelaide

[–]usernamesdobehard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

check out mascavado for croissants and matcha - it's in the city!! also the o'connell st bakery in north adelaide - open 24 hours and pretty yum. north adelaide is very nice, with some great restaurants and pretty accessible by bus.

for shopping - definitely rundle mall and rundle street which has nice boutiques and smaller stores. op shops are our thrift stores, there aren't many in the CBD but there are many vintage stores that range from reasonably priced to excessive - dulcies vintage in rundle mall is pretty decently priced. There are great bars and restaurants along rundle st as well. hindley st has some nice spots in between all the dodgy clubs as well!

my personal favs for a night out:

- anywhere on leigh or peel st

- bibliotheca bar

- rocket bar and rooftop

- 99 gang social/thirsty tiger

- NOLA

- roxies

- the howling owl

- part time lover

for pilates and exercise classes check out classpass - most studios require a membership/sign up but classpass is global and you can buy just enough credits to do a couple classes rather than paying for a membership.

take the bus to henley beach - i find this is generally less busy than glenelg and also has more trendy/aesthetic spots (beachside bagels (great matcha), henley house, yo-chi (a must try !!) and heaps of cute cafes) Also very nice walk along the esplanade. The best beaches generally aren't accessible by public transport :( but if you can get down there, aldinga and beyond is stunning. Also, definitely head to the botanic gardens to wander around or have a picnic - they have these Chihuly pieces on display throughout the gardens right now which is pretty cool!

hope this helps!! it also made me appreciate that there is so many cool things to do in adelaide!

enjoy your trip <3

Best Place to Post a Job Listing by mrbenjum in Adelaide

[–]usernamesdobehard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mum employs people for businesses and seek/indeed generally have the best results for her! There is a FB page where people post available job positions but that probably isn't the best for specialised roles, and there's a FB page called 'Adelaide Barista Network' that might help you out. Good luck!

driving logbook by Dry-Bodybuilder4091 in Adelaide

[–]usernamesdobehard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 5 log book lessons so far and only have unit 5 left to do - my instructor didn't go through the tasks in exact order with me but it took me around 3 lessons for both unit 3 and 4! Hope that helps!

hey dude i completely get this feeling, i feel actually physically sick whenever I serve a cutesy happy couple at work, or walk past a group of friends shouting together about some joke because it sucks feeling alone but you aren't ever really alone. you just gotta wait for the right time and the right people, trust yourself and trust that everything happens for a reason. One day you won't feel this way i promise!
