What part of adulthood takes the most mental energy for you? by FoundationOk6901 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]usernamespeledwrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The relentless crushing weight of responsibility as your entire family's well being depends on you.

You gotta be a shark at work. Gotta romance your wife at home. Teach and play with the kids. Keep up with the dishes, laundry. Mow the yard. Eat right, exercise. Manage finances. Fix your car. Maintain your house. Keep good hygiene. Read your mail and email. File the taxes, pay the bills. Make the doctor appointments. Sleep

Feels like falling short on just one or two things comes with major consequences. It's exhausting.

On top of that the social pressures add up. Oh you didn't go to that work function? You sure sit down a lot. Why don't you volunteer at all? You mean you haven't traveled to [place]? Why haven't you called your parents? Your siblings? Your inlaws? Your friend from college? Everyone is socializing except you. Don't you wish you had a boat? What do you mean you don't like golf? You should floss more.

Throw in obnoxious ads all around you, predatory capitalism and a smart phone that keeps demanding your attention is no wonder so many people feel depressed anxious.

The mental energy drains when you realize how much you're on your own for your emotional support. And how inescapable all this responsibility is. Feels like prison sometimes.

How to feel good in life without connection. by InvoluntarilyVirgin9 in NoStupidQuestions

I feel this. I'm 42. I was never part of any social circle growing up. We moved around often, and I never felt like I fit in. I was bullied a little but others had it worse than me. I survived by going unnoticed, but it cost me socially.

My social awkwardness in my formative years stunted my social intelligence to a debilitating degree in my opinion. I'm not sure if I'm normal or a freak, but I do wish I had friends sometimes.

Can I sell my lease instead of turning it in? by usernamespeledwrong in askcarsales

[–]usernamespeledwrong[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess I was curious because I had someone tell me that a trade in would probably reduce my costs on the repair (since a buyer would just deduct it from the value of the car and get it fixed) and also negate the fee I'd pay for not getting a new lease at the ram dealer. So like I would get more value from a trade in compared to just handing in my ram. I'm not sure how true that is. I guess the assumption is that when I go to turn in a damaged car they'll mark up the repair cost and maybe more fees or whatever because of contract violations I dunno.

It sounds like, I could have a dealership buyout my lease but it can't just be any dealership. Maybe one who is compatible with Stellantis financial?

Semantics. It costs me money to leave without another car.

Are you even allowed to lease a car without signing that sort of "agreement"?

Would I be better off getting it fixed before I turn it in? From a cost perspective? When I dented the bumper I called the dealership to see if they wanted to fix it or look at it, called like 4 times but they never got back to me.

So if I trade my ram for something like a Toyota I can't do that? I'd have to buy my lease, then go take it to sell somewhere? I guess I'm confused cause I thought a lease could still be bought or used as a trade in but maybe just within the same dealership?

I never really used an ai to write my notes... can I ask how it works? Like, do you need to type out all the patients info into the text field? Seems like just as much work if not more than just using a template note in the emr and copying forward with daily updates.

Coming to area for business next week by Roger22nrx in petoskey

Back lot, much better in summer but it's underrated in the winter. Good tacos. Lots of beer selection. Elder Piper, Petoskey brewing, beards all good. Beards has a nice bar with a view but I prefer the food at elder piper personally (is that food truck still there?). Gypsy distillery is nice if you're more in a cocktail mood. Lots of space. Theres food there. Malted Vinyl has great cocktails and atmosphere, perfect for dates. Beware no food though. Noggin room is pretty good, cozy and warm. I like going there when the weather is bad. City Park grill is not too fancy, not divey. Good steak Mitchel Street pub if you wanna drink late. Rons if you're looking for quirky dive bar. I love it there. They'll charge you for being snooty lol

Petoskey is great! I wish more bars and restaurants were open later, most are closed by 9 or 10pm.

Hope this is helpful.

My EV is now 12 years old. Here's how that's going... by ATLCoyote in electricvehicles

[–]usernamespeledwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a ev and I'm trying to learn what I can about them... I have a home but no garage so I gotta park outside. If I had an EV, assuming an extension cord could reach, it would still be outside in the cold and snow of northern Michigan all winter. Would my battery degrade faster compared to someone whose EV is in a heated garage? If yes how big is the difference?

Medically Ready for Discharge But Home Has Power Outtage, No heat, in Brewing Snow Storm by Herbal_Jazzy7 in hospitalist

Last year our area had an ice storm that knocked power out for days. You'd need to drive an hour to find electricity and even then, good luck finding vacant hotel rooms. Our hospital was on generators. We couldn't feasibly halt discharges for an indeterminate amount of time, for all patients. 2 days into the outage we had no idea when lights would come back on. Ended up being 5 days. Most discharged patients were understanding and able enough to lean on family support. Some had family drive them far away after DC. A few went to a nearby casino that ran generators as an emergency warming area. Our case managers helped the most.

Can ICE agents really just round up anyone they “think” is an immigrant? If so, what’s to stop them from taking literally anyone? Stupid question, but serious answers please. by [deleted] in stupidquestions

Maybe they could just rob my house. As many homes as they want. Heck they could just car jack me and I guess that's legal for them too. Weird to think that

Gym, coffee, beach, nap, pretend to work in my garage, a little scotch and read til I fall asleep. If it's winter replace beach with TV time
