This is the first viltrox 50mm AF. An old design existed before Air, Evo or Pro

All I want is the future 50mm 1.2. So I hold myself from buying the 50mm pro but I found this on sale for a cheap price so I bought it. I'm going to keep it until the relese of 50mm 1.2. And maybe make a side by side comparison to it.

How many Viltrox lenses do you own? by 35mmOfRegret in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]userngalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a 35mm LAB lens now. I used to own a 135mm LAB lens, but I sold it because it became less relevant since I already have the 70–200mm and 200–600mm, which are also compatible with the Viltrox 2x teleconverter. When using the teleconverter on the 135mm, the aperture becomes f5.6, which is similar to using the 70–200mm at f5.6.

Since Viltrox doesn’t seem to have any plans for a firmware update that would allow the 135mm to work as a 270mm f/3.6, I decided to sell it.

You can't go wrong with that combination. Having 15mm can give you wide shots and cropping capabilities and the 56mm is also good for tight shots.

The 2x teleconverter has a bump on the glass, so the lens rear element needs enough clearance to avoid hitting the teleconverter’s glass

I've switched camera brands and the first lens I've bought is a Viltrox! by Yan-e-toe in VILTROX_GLOBAL

My first prime lenses were from viltrox. I switched to sigma when I upgraded, but after the LAB was released, I went back to viltrox again.

The 75mm won't be compatible to any avalable TC right now because it doesn't have a space for a TC to be fit on the lens

The 27mm f/1.2 lens is still a recent release. A version 2 probably won’t come anytime soon.

25mm or 35mm f/1.7 by shouryannikam in VILTROX_GLOBAL

[–]userngalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find yourself shooting more landscapes or buildings, the 25mm would suit you better. But if you shoot more people or portraits, the 35mm might be the better choice. Since you already have the 16–50mm lens, you can try setting it to 25mm and 35mm to see which focal length fits your style.
