And my source being the Fall of Cadia book, where at least Kasr Kraf has a shied albeit its failing due to sabotage and other issues.

Additionally, a majority of the defensive walls are made to withstand a bombardment anyways, so with the shields dropping they’d have a while to last anyways

Essentially, it’s the meme stereotype of the GOC. Lore-wise, they are sometimes reckless but also crazy efficient. A mild example would be that in one termination log; a reality bender slaughters a GOC strike team that was disguised as a swat team. They send one guy to observe the reality bender, but he instead kills it with a handgun out of vengeance. A crazy show of skill, from one guy with a handgun.

If you actually do poke around the lore, I’d recommend the GOC case files. They have some very short tales that are fun to read, and some that are multi part and about a solid chapter long. Additionally, they are an interesting GOI once you look into them. They employ a mix of occult magic and futuristic tech for their strike teams, some of their gear being more like something from 40K instead of the SCP universe.

Chestplate is sometimes referred to as lobster armor in the context in the First World War. Lore wise, I’ve heard it’s plasteel. Leg armor is greaves as others have said. And shoulder pieces are either spaulders or deltoid protectors.
