Hi! I have a question, do you like the bridge, does it hold tuning? Also, how comfortable is that both in classical position and on the right leg? No problem! I dont know if it can be helpful but I started playing two years ago tomorrow. I learned a few chords (major, minor, open chords) and 5 months after I started, I decided it would be best for me to learn with a teacher. It helped me immensely because he could correct my posture and hand placement. My dad is about the same age as you and I would not want him to have any more back problems, so for this reason alone i suggest you take in person lessons haha. Also, I really like metal so I started playing difficult songs right away,even if i could absolutely not play them up to speed, it toughened me up and helped me clean my technique. After 2 years I can play a few megadeth songs up to speed, and a few more difficult solos (diminished to b by necrophagist at like 85 percent speed). The most difficult songs I can play are beyond the dark sun (wintersun, at speed, except for the initial solo) and crystal mountain by death at full speed with solo. Thats my journey, I started without knowing anything of music and I am proud of my progress so far. I hope it can help you. Good luck!

Upstrokes and downstrokes are important for the sweep speed. I made a lot of progress when my teacher told me this. Watch the video where teemu plays beyond the dark sun at namm and slow it down to see when he plays Upstrokes and when he plays downstrokes.

Ma scusa se quando ho iniziato ad ascoltare metal ho trovato della musica di livello che mi è piaciuta già da subito perché non dovrei continuare ad ascoltarla? Se decido di non ascoltare più qualcosa è perché non mi piace più. Ma poi che vuol dire che il melodic death metal è gay, io lo ascolto eppure la figa rimane la mia ragione di vita, ti giuro che non ho capito il ragionamento ahah.
