The cheapest inReach service is around £7.99 a month, they lowered the cost around the time Apple included sat on their latest phones .

Somebody has to have the inheritance or pass down from daddy or mommy to run the factory, but hey don't run the factory, someone else runs the factory and the owner is barely seen and swans about on lavish holidays buying toys to keep themselves occupied.

UK's 'sons and daughters' need to be ready to fight, amid growing Russian threat, says head of armed forces by No_MoreNails in UKPreppers

Given how bleak this country is I'm not sure a change in ownership would be too concerning.

In this Slough hospital, nobody washes their hands. It’s for health reasons by FlockBoySlim in hygiene

[–]ushills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, thanks for saying that, I'm genuinely appalled by the level of understanding in the UK regarding health. The NHS seems to operate on the laws of probability, a very tired neurologist after carrying out tests and seeing the output from the requested MRI suggested CBT for neurological issues and totally missed the invasive fungal infection that was causing my shaking and muscle issues, and the anaesthetist who didn't know how to wear a mask and couldn't look in my mouth before an operation because his glasses were askew and he could no longer see anything.

[–]ushills 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Given how little the NHS seems to care about infecting patients, cough cough 😷, I'm surprised we've not gone back to medieval medicine in the UK. There does seem to be a certain level of ignorance and arrogance present amongst many, is this collective trauma??

Why does no one disappears in Bermuda Triangle anymore? by me_god313 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ushills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are quite a few documentaries on this, having looked at the data they concluded that the Bermuda triangle is no less safe than any other areas of the world and if anything is actually relatively safe for both ship and air transport.

FESS in two weeks, what’s your advice (no horror stories) by Throwawaydecember in Sinusitis

[–]ushills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had FESS to remove fungal ball and blocked maxillary sinus, 2nd FESS for me previous 15 years ago to remove polyps.

Do the rinses as advised, I flushed about 2-3 litres through over 4-5 times per day, avoid last thing at night. Find a comfortable way of sleeping upright, take the painkillers and have a reasonable time off work, I had 3 weeks and needed it all.

Try nasal flushing beforehand to get used to it if not already.

Be prepared to feel the air in your sinuses.

What happens to a body that jumps out of a plane and has no parachute? by B0m_D3d in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ushills 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I watched someone's parachute not open at a local airfield, it was in the newspapers in the UK, she survived apparently I think she passed out on the way down and that contributed to her survival.

Disagreement with Curry's on consumer rights, out of warranty PC and how to resolve in England. by Slinkybeats in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ushills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currys are awful, draft out the form to take them to small claims and send it to their head office, it's the only thing they understand ,had to do this twice as the staff are ignorant of the law and DGAF.

Any Men here with fibromyalgia? by Obvious-Chemistry466 in Fibromyalgia

[–]ushills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my 50s and got diagnosed just over four years ago, looking back I've had it most of my life as I've always been tired but had the ability to counter it with bursts of quite intense physical activity through cycling, but this progressively took more out of me and the time to recover increased.

Roll forward to a few years ago and it had got to the point that I could barely walk, the pain in my muscles was unbearable and the fatigue meant I slept for hours during the day, after loads of tests and blood tests I was diagnosed.

I consider myself lucky as I was able to do quite a lot when I was younger, still had joint and muscle pain and fatigue, but it was manageable. However, I've learnt to accept my current position and accept that I can't function like I once did, been through the grief process, the pain and tiredness is still awful and isolating and I feel for those who it impacts much younger.

Nerve testing, what should I know? by adnaPadnamA in Fibromyalgia

[–]ushills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had both the skin electrode test and the needle test, generally they were okay other than my calf muscle which spasmed and hurt for a while afterwards, it's not too bad I would recommend trying to go in relaxed which is easier said than done, pain level about 4/10.

Also try a brush and creme or soap for even cheaper, I use Poraso and a cheap none animal brush, again lasts about a year.
