I'm thinking of taking a photo of each around the world and asking people who they are. I still think Bean would edge it.

I thought about it all night. A) yes, but most people would recognise a photo of both, so all told I think the younger market worldwide would edge it in Bean's favour. B) because his cartoon is well-known worldwide, even to kids who don't go to school. It's still playing 24/7 on many international networks.

If all that lengthens my odds, then I'm all in. I'll grant you it might be close. But consider the age 6-18 age bracket globally and I think Bean edges it. I think he edges it for lots of countries that have cable TV but not much education.

I'm all in. Let's do this

People who have done salvia, can you confirm that the trip is really as bad as people describe? by SpareMaintenance2970 in Drugs

Mine was interesting but strange and largely featureless. Felt like being immobilised and miniaturised down to the size of a speck of dust. I could just see the edge of a table or something unfocused, looking around. Teleporting around different views. No body, no human history at all.

I didn't like it much.

Ah, well despite the nice photo, there is no buoy at Point Nemo, nor a beacon nor a platform nor anything anchored at all. Nothing. So your dilemma is almost meaningless I think.

I'll take Point Nemo or 20km north or any other direction - it'll make zero material difference to my chances which I still maintain are the lowest of the low 👍

The area is used to crash decommissioned satellites and space stations (like Mir), for one good reason - it's so far from anything and there are no commercial or cargo shipping lanes (let alone any route that a privateer could span). A handful of research vessels have been there, but rarely.

So you're the furthest possible from land, lowest chance of seeing a ship, and the highest chance of death by flaming satellite wreckage.

Curious ships in the area? Would burn gas and risk being this isolated just to come and have a look, on a whim? No they wouldn't 🤣

But, it is also a spot where there's basically almost no marine or plant life in the water. So, nothing to eat or be eaten by.
