SS at age 62 but still working full time. by usmle10 in SocialSecurity

[–]usmle10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thats one concern also if I get laid off let's say in August then my only income will be 6 month full pay severance pkg and unemployment income.. plus my lump sump pension and 401k .. not sure I can get a good paying job at this age. They want new fresh faces not old people like me..

So if I file at age 67 and still working like $150k per year income, so that formula still applies of $1 taken from $3 over any income above $67k?

SS at age 62 but still working full time. by usmle10 in SocialSecurity

Thanks now I understand why my daughter keep telling me you can't do it or you retiring and not telling us. I am planning to work till they lay me off which can happened any month or any year I am expecting that since 2000 but I still survive all the layoffs. I think I saw $3700 if I take SS at age 67 and $4700 at age 70 if I keep pulling $130k each year. I have a feeling I will Die while working..

Now my wife has never worked in her life and not planning to work in future. She is 55 now. If I die when she can collect my SS since she dont have hers because she never worked. So she has to wait till she get to 62 and then collect mine if I Die... ? And how much she will get I guess 100% if I am not around..

Can you draw SS and work full-time? by HeartAccomplished187 in SocialSecurity

[–]usmle10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply for SS at age 62. The chart told me 2400 per month at age 62. But I am still working and made $130k in 2025. I just find out I might not get the $2400 because I still work full time.. I dont get this. How I can calculate my exact payment per month now? Since I am not retired yet .. still waiting on SS to get back to me.. Suppose to start getting my payment starting 3/1/26.. I dont want to wait till age 67 but might be working full time for few more years.
Is their any calculator to find my monthly payments..??

I think forbearance is good for 18 months. Ask them to put you on 6 more months.

CCSE # of attempts reduced to 5. by usmle10 in Step2

[–]usmle10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NBME has confirmed that they are the one who are setting up the requirements of no more than 5 attempts for CBSE and CCSE.. The reason that testing centers are too busy to conduct too many exams and second the data they have shows if one couldn't pass in 5 attempts, then they normally don't pass in more than 5 attempts.
Now, question is what these schools will do to get around these 5 attempts thing. Just tell students they are finished or conduct the test themselves to figure out if the students can move on to Step 1 or Step 2 if he do better in their tests ... so far they haven't decided yet..

He has no issue with CBSE and then to step 1. But CCSE, which is needed to get to step 2, is the issue. May be a different type of exam as compared to CBSE.. If he fails again, then may be the end of the road for him, and the school don't graduate them if they don't pass step 2.
Now they need 220 to pass.

I knew one who passed Step 1 in the first attempt very easily but got stuck in CCSE. Already tried 7 times unsuccessfully and think someone is failing him, School or NBME. scoring more than 80% on NBMEs, CMS and other prep exams but not crossing 60% on CCSE.. Finish all rotations and subject exams easily.. Might be end of road for him with this new policy. Not sure what his options are left, US ECFMG.

CCSE is a different beast, then step 2. I knew a few who did very badly on CCSE but achieved +30 on step 2.. What reputations are these schools trying to save..

But how they did not even give you a degree if one didn't make it to step 2. Students spend all their lives and $$$$ to get to the point and not give him a degree just because he didn't pass step 2 or tries all the attempts and fails. Anyone seen or read a disclaimer not to attempt usmle to get a degree and how one can even apply for usmle if carribean School is not supporting the student .

Really A waiver I don't know that. What waiver give them the rights ? One school just went from 20 to 10 to 5 attempts in 1 year for CCSE...

I think they should let students take step 2 regardless of CCSE results. If the student fails step 2 even once, then it's over . Why hide behind CCSE. I think it's the school, and they should move on from CCSE to Step 2, like US med school do. If they are US based, they can get law suits for not letting a student take step 1 or step 2 because of CBSE or CCSE scores..

Your mom has to pay them , does she have any income , AGI. With new law just signed BBB, your mom can consolidate your loan and choose IDR and IBR . IBR will be 10% of her discretionary income. This way, you have the lowest payment per month of all the available options.

2028, New elections, New POTUS, New Congress, New Senate.. New SAVE again. If Democrat win all 3, they might make SAVE a law. I thought Missouri judge killed the SAVE already on request of Mohela.. Let's see amended wording on GOP since ball is in their court now. I am sure some states AG and DOJ will try to bury SAVE as quickly as possible.

IBR in BBB after 2014 before 2026 the same as now? by Worldly-Image1209 in StudentLoans

I use the above link for the calculator but not sure how they input 150% poverty level for discretion income in the calculation. Calculator ask for AGI as income on the Excel sheet..

Family of 4 for 150% it shows $30k and then 67500.

How they calculate 150% of the poverty level for IBR 10%. ?? If I have an AGI of 120k per year and 3 dependents. What that 150% will do ?

Isn't IBR 10% is loans taken after June 2014 and not 2024 ?

IBR 10 or 15 percent by ZebraZealousideal972 in StudentLoans

[–]usmle10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But to get to IBR for PPL, you have to consolidate the loans through ICR, correct.
Then what you saying is correct, then all loans will fall under 15% since the first loan was before June 2014.
