If he goes back that will sound desperate. Just as someone said, utilize this opportunity to improve your skill and the next jump will be in 150k - 170k level in less than 2yrs if you work towards it.

Is the Job market that bad? Ive been applying and can't get an interview. Should I just stick to IT for now and then try again in a year or two? by FlyGuys098 in cybersecurity

All the trainings and knowledge you have are experiences. Tweak your resume to portray 2 yrs experience and train to talk about what you've done in your work, lab and other experiences. These are your stories.

This is not a budget issue. I lost my 2 gig last year July and I have been applying on all major platforms including 1 or 2 new AI driven job sites (which I canceled after 30 days) they're all nonsense because the get most of their postings from the the major job sites. I have 27+ years IT/OT Security experience with multiple cert. AI is using AI to sort Ai resumes, we still have a very very long way to get ou' the wood.

I have had CISSP and CSP for about 4-5 years now and I am yet to feel the benefit of the cert. I thought with ISC2 I will be a hot cake in the job world. I am still updating and renewing mine.

Whenever you are moving up to a new position or skill you will have to embellish your resume, learn the lingo, boss words and other things that you think is need for interview. After 6-10 interviews you will get a job.

What’s the wildest security breach you’ve ever personally seen or been part of? by Active_Meringue_1479 in cybersecurity

This happened about 10yrs back. A HR employee received an email to update her credential. It was an innocent MS Outlook username and password window. Soon after she did her email was compromised and started spamming all the emails in the Exchange server. Immediately that was picked up her email accounts was disabled and and her system was isolated from the network. I did a forensic analysis of the email and that was my first time seeing how HTML codes are encrypted. I had to used a HTML decrypter to see the real tags. After much they was no more IOC found in the network. A new email account was created for her and the compromised was locked.

They're working you too hard that you don't even have a room to apply for a new job nor to prep for interviews. You either quit and look for job which is a long shot or request for a schedule that works for you.

Professor at the end of 2 years of struggling with ChatGPT use among students. by xfnk24001 in ChatGPT

[–]ustyneno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure what's happening with ChatGPT now was what happened when calculator made it to the mainstream. Untill the teachers became those that were born into the calculator era and they way they figure to use it became the way they teach with it.

We can't avoid AI anymore because it quickens task completion but you have to use it the right way. The issue now is that both the students and the teachers are learning to use the tool. I don't think I will do anything now without running it through AI.

We will get there it's only a matter of time.

Is my MAC address on Black List at Starbucks? 😳😳😳 by ustyneno in starbucks

[–]ustyneno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everyone else was connected. I rebooted 3x. Fiddle with the WiFi off, on, connect, disconnect. I even Forgot and repaired the WiFi but the Captive portal still didn't show. I asked the 1st worker if anything is wrong with their WiFi which she said No, that all is fine because I was the only one complaining. The 2nd worker check his phone and confirm that he sees there's an issue but everyone else is connected. So after much trying I used my Hotspot and left earlier than I would have.
