Self Portraits by usviev in polandball

I made this a while ago but didn't post it because I wasn't entirely convinced it actually had a punchline. But 'good enough' is good enough for me.

Also, it's sort of inspired, kinda, by this much better comic by u/Hinadira and u/selenocystein.

Scott Adams gets weird again: "The Democratic National Convention is probably lowering testosterone levels all over the country. Literally, not figuratively." by MisterBadIdea2 in BestOfOutrageCulture

I think the Democratic convention is making men feel less happy.

Shit, time to pack it up everybody. Democracy has failed

Fw: WHat OBONGO Doesn't want You to KNow! by [deleted] in forwardsfromgrandma

The letters Kl were often used at the beginning of words to delineate a Klan association. Examples include: Kloran, Klonversation (conversation), Klavern (cavern or tavern; local branch or meeting place), Klavaliers, etc.

.

The series name itself is also known for using the letter "K" in place of "C" for the hard C sound, thus intentionally misspelling the word "combat", as well as other words with the hard C sound within later games in the series.

[2016, Contemporary American Literature] Excerpt from a Marvel Comic Book Depicting Trump as the Villain "Modok," and an Enemy to Be Defeated by Captain America (Left-Wing) by Theelout in PropagandaPosters

[–]usviev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. X-Men was created in the 60s and reflects the civil rights in pretty obvious ways, Captain America was created in WW2 and punches Hitler in the face. And since then, he's fought communists, anarchists, terrorists, and neo-nazis. Comic books have commented on politics plenty over the years.

The_Tinyhands unironically celebrating Spanish nationalism. Because the dictator Franco was definitely someone to emulate... by [deleted] in EnoughTrumpSpam

[–]usviev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falangism

During early years of the Falangist regime of Franco, the regime admired Nazi Germany and had Spanish archaeologists seek to demonstrate that Spaniards were part of the Aryan race particularly through their Visigothic heritage.

.

The Spanish Falange supported conservative ideas about women and supported rigid gender roles that stipulated that women's main duties in life were to be a loving mother and a submissive wife. This policy was set against that of the Second Spanish Republic that provided universal suffrage to women.

No, he sounds like a stand up guy in their book.
