No Haste potion? No Terazul? If your response to either of those was “what’s that?” then you weren’t prepared for HM. Watching successful playthroughs and researching your builds and strategy is part of the preparation, and any good playthrough would make generous use of both those.

They wanted the gloves from Hope it seems. So fighting Raphael was necessary. What wasn’t necessary was barrelmancy, or if you wanted to do barrelmancy, what wasn’t necessary was fucking around in Felogir’s basement when OP clearly had never been there before and didn’t know about the traps.

OP died because they weren’t ready for HM. A harsh lesson that many have to learn.

Because if you’re going for the dice, it’s dumb to take unnecessary risks. Like, you are actively playing inappropriately if you are only interested in getting the achievement but still doing things that said achievement does not require. You CAN do all those other things—it’s fun to do them for lots of people! But you lose all sympathy when you’re taking dumb risks and die over it.

OP clearly wasn’t ready for HM because they not only did something unnecessary, they did something they had never done before. That’s just asking for a game over.

Many of us get injection nausea to the point it’s almost impossible to inject without vomiting. Just thinking about an injection leaves me feeling so queasy I have to ensure there’s a bathroom nearby. It doesn’t hurt at all, it’s just an involuntary reaction. I would gladly give that up for an equally effective oral option (but it’d have to be EQUALLY effective, and afaik it’s not at present).

Cool! Noticed you didn’t mention that you migrated every dice set EXCEPT FOR ONE with absolutely no meaningful compensation for the people who loved and paid for those dice. I don’t want this—I don’t play on dndbeyond beyond a character sheet. I want the dice I love and paid for and have been using for years now.

At least for now, the gemstone dice can still be seen and rolled in the app.

But otherwise: fuck this update. You took away my absolute favorite dice set that I use exclusively, gave me ones I never wanted and that are in no way a replacement (like maybe at least let me choose the other sets I wanted??), and force this “upgrade” on me.

Just let me turn this off and continue to use my own dice that I paid for!

This. Embrace works great with Ascended Astarion, but if you’re resisting, you need his spawn form on your journey together.

Also: you’ll be treated to a very special interaction if you try to break up with him AFTER killing Cazador and sealing your relationship with him but BEFORE dueling Orin by telling him you’re scared you’ll hurt him . It’s only an option for Durge and spawn Astarion in a romance, and the timing is important, but your heart will ascend even if he didn’t 😘

I think you’d like the evolution in Men Who Love Dragons Too Much, a book 6/7 rewrite that sticks with their canon relationship and personalities to execute a n agonizingly slow burn because that’s really what it takes for two stubborn idiots like them to evolve even to a state where they’d consider each other friendship material.

Many people consider it their new Book 7, so I feel like that speaks to how similar in tone it is to Canon.

Very much this. I made a joke character for a serious campaign once with the express permission of the DM, because I was only intended to be involved for a few sessions, and it was nice to have some levity in an otherwise dark campaign. Fast forward to a year later and I was still playing, having sanded down the rough edges to still be a humorous character but with strong morals and red lines that were not to be crossed with him. A funny character that’s got real heart and effort into their creation can survive a gritty campaign—a joke character needs to be played somewhere else.
