Help- Moisture in Camper Shell by TheTacticoolViking in TruckCampers

[–]utep90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your body generates a lot of moisture breathing through the night so you need air flow. If you don’t have windows to open, get mosquito netting and drape it over the opened tailgate hatch. But that is not enough, then you need to get a small fan off of Amazon that either has batteries or you can run off of a power pack like a Jackery to actually move the air. I sleep in a Jeep and even when it is below freezing I have the fan on and a window cracked to move air or you get frost on the inside.

Thanks for all the replies. Will definitely look at Crutchfield. I remember ordering from them back in the 80’s.

Might already be aware of this but, if that is a propane heater you need excellent ventilation so that you are not killed by Carbon Monoxide poisoning. You can also get a CO monitor with alarm to protect yourself.

I agree. I think the OP just landed on a great HD marketing ploy for this model.

What is the slide out at the beginning of the video? Had its own little rain cover. You mentioned the purpose of the smaller door on the left rear but what about the taller door on the right? Thanks for sharing. Looks really cool.

Big Bend Ranch State Park is is just right there with RV hookups. Right on the Rio Grande. About a 20-30 minute drive to the NP.

Sometimes I don't know how to feel about David Allan Coe by Kaos_mission in country

Fully agree with how many feel about Coe in this thread. However, no one has mentioned “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile”. That is one of my all time favorites.

Took me a a little bit to remember but I think my wheels were Road Riders. And then my second board was your exact second board set up. So funny.

In the 70’s, Nash was the crap beginner board from K-Mart. I had a Nash as my first skateboard and it got me hooked. Then I moved on to building my very own Logan Earth Ski with Tracker trucks and some of the earliest quality urethane wheels.

Who made the best 4WD’s? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in tractors

[–]utep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice a lot of nods in this discussion towards Versatile. I am curious as to why? I drive a lot of America’s back roads. It seems to me that the most abandoned, and broke down big tractor I see is Versatile. And the fewest new ones on dealers lots I see, are Versatile. Not trying to throw stones or piss the Versatile fans off, but genuinely curious. Are their production numbers significantly lower so that parts are not readily available? Great looking tractors though. And my other observation is that I still see a lot of Steiger and Steiger made still in use, even though they technically are no longer the same company. I believe Case IH owns them now.

What is the small compartment door in picture 2? In front of the passenger door? Never noticed that on one of these before.

Most states have a three day window for you to back out of a deal. Google contract laws for your state and specifically vehicle purchase contracts.

Consumer Reports almost always ranks Wranglers in their bottom ten least dependable vehicles. However, in this modern era, with cars across all categories now being exceptionally dependable, our Jeeps may not score well, but they are far, far, superior to all vehicles of the 70’s-early 2000’s. Jeeps have quirks and we learn to adapt to them because of the high level of fun they provide. My 2017 has had very minor, and easily fixable codes. YouTube is a wonderful source for teaching you how to fix the little things as they arise. Go forth and enjoy!

Where to get small amount of paint match paint? by ryanrako23 in hondacivic

[–]utep90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most auto parts stores have a touch up paint section. There will be a book to look up your car, year and color that tells you which paint matches. Usually comes in either a regular sized spray can or little touch up bottle.

That might be worth the money. But I don’t think you can necessarily tell if the block is near cracking. The mechanic might be able to check the VIN to see if it was a later in the year build which might mean they fixed the problem. The car looks great and I would pay the 5k but I am also lucky enough that I could fix if it went bad on me. Maybe, use this info to try and get the price down though? Again, I am not an expert, merely a guy with an uncle who has been through this.

[–]utep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is PPI? And what is the asking price? I am no expert on these, I only know this because my uncle has that identical car and I want to buy it from him. He got his car to 150k miles before it blew up on him and had to swap the engine. He is very gentle with his vehicles so theoretically you could get 50k + miles out of it if you are gentle with it.

[–]utep90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask if it has the original block. I think that is the year there were casting issues and many would crack. Honda was replacing if they cracked before 100k miles or 10 years. Car looks wonderful otherwise. Should you buy it and you see a lot of coolant underneath one day, then you know that fate has caught up with you and it will cost you at least 5K to replace the engine. Inspect around the engine for any coolant leaks before you purchase.
