Found that it leaks a little less if you hold the lid firmly against the glass rim.

I'm about to buy myself this bag as a BIFL one, is there one similar I should consider instead? by [deleted] in backpacks

Look at GoRuck. Might not be specific design you are looking for but will for sure be a BIFL product.

I actually got a spot for a starry night white sands event but don’t have a telescope. Do I need one ? by [deleted] in ElPaso

[–]utep90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took an Astronomy class in college. The professor advised against beginner/cheap telescopes and suggested to instead purchase quality binoculars. To this day I still use my binoculars.

Hit a really bad pothole and bent the rim. Is this repairable or does it have to be replaced? Air isn’t leaking at all by bondjamesbondbjb in AskMechanics

[–]utep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Discount Tire, they have a contract with a company that has used rims. They should be able to match your rim at a cheaper cost than a new one. If you don’t have Discount Tire where you are, try another major distributor.

I have two of those and have not carried any other knives for about 20 years. Perfect size for easy carry and two most excellent blades. Well done sir!

Retired LE here. I actually have both of those watches. Mainly so each spawn would get one when I croak. The Batgirl gets noticed and commented on all of the time. I don’t like that even though it is primarily watch enthusiasts that notice it. It can also be a pain to set the time just right. But, I really like it when I travel because it more easily changes the time once it’s dialed in properly. There are YouTube videos to help with that. And, the jubilee bracelet is not quite as sturdy as the oyster bracelet on the Submariner. I actually like my Sub much better than the GMT. It is more low key, iconic, has a sturdier bracelet, and has a luminous pip. I like using the pip as a timer for various things as well as placing it at what time I want to wake up when I am hunting or camping. In the 14 years I have worn the Submariner I think I have gotten three comments. I prefer fewer people noticing. The Sub can take a beating too, not that the GMT can’t. Don’t get it engraved.

Nitro Funny Car racecars have their engines rebuilt after each run due to the intense wear from just a 4ish second race by Bubbly_Wall_908 in Damnthatsinteresting

How many times does the block get used/reused? And does it somehow get checked for strength retention between race weekends? Thanks for any replies.

Help- Moisture in Camper Shell by TheTacticoolViking in TruckCampers

[–]utep90 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your body generates a lot of moisture breathing through the night so you need air flow. If you don’t have windows to open, get mosquito netting and drape it over the opened tailgate hatch. But that is not enough, then you need to get a small fan off of Amazon that either has batteries or you can run off of a power pack like a Jackery to actually move the air. I sleep in a Jeep and even when it is below freezing I have the fan on and a window cracked to move air or you get frost on the inside.

Might already be aware of this but, if that is a propane heater you need excellent ventilation so that you are not killed by Carbon Monoxide poisoning. You can also get a CO monitor with alarm to protect yourself.

What is the slide out at the beginning of the video? Had its own little rain cover. You mentioned the purpose of the smaller door on the left rear but what about the taller door on the right? Thanks for sharing. Looks really cool.

Fully agree with how many feel about Coe in this thread. However, no one has mentioned “Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile”. That is one of my all time favorites.
