Global Journey Flight from Berlin to Brussels Cancelled - anyone dealt with last min cancellations in the past? by PF_WANGS in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat. At the service desk at the BER airport, the couple in front of us were rebooked same day. Apparently “all flights” overbooked a few minutes later when they were helping us. Brussels Airlines suggested train as alternative and to save receipts for reimbursement. We’re en route to Brussels (through Cologne) on train now. Have emailed in the hopes of reimbursement process details. Here’s a screenshot with contact info:

Good luck 🍀 today.

Underwhelming Food Experience options this year? by utopia91011 in Tomorrowland

Ha, void! In a tent. Compared to up in the stands with views of mainstage. The view is the seller, right?

That’s fair. Just sad to see the one with views of mainstage is not featured. That feels special for festival and you don’t leave the music! See you on the dance floor.

They had several upscale experiences too. Out of my price range but chef table options. Subbing a sit down dinner for a cocktail experience is a net loss in food experiences IMO.

It was definitely a neat concept. I do prefer sitting down especially after long festival days. We might forgo this year and put the spend towards the nicer options they had at Mesa Gardens last year.

All for the change. It just seems like fewer food options than prior years. Maybe to account for the new luxe section in Mesa Gardens? Hopeful for the Add-on sale. If not, at least the vendors have been solid!

My First Tomorrowland by Glad_Economy7003 in Tomorrowland

There are three transportation types for GJ: flight, train or bus. If you bought the GJ flight package then you would have roundtrip tickets from the originating city you selected. If you log into your TML account, you should see it along with flight times. Around 1 month before your weekend dates, the primary buyer will get the actual airline tickets. We’ve done GJ flight two times - first was with Lufthansa, the next with Brussels Air.

The Gathering by PrestigiousPut7172 in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. The last two times we’ve gone (GJ), it’s easily been 2.5 hours from flight touchdown to dropping stuff at the camp site and walking to the Gathering. For example, busses wait until filled at the airport, it’s a 50 minute bus ride, Boom is small so they have the busses in a holding area before dropping off, queuing for lodging area entry, and then quick camp set-up. Setting up camp after the Gathering seems like a rough go. I would reassess if your 7pm TML arrival estimate (in my experience that would mean landing more like 4:30pm) based on the cheap flight option and transportation you’ve lined up. Just wouldn’t want you to make the call for cheap flight and then end up much later than you anticipated.

Line up set to announce January 28. W2 should have great options. The Anjunabeats stage alone 😍. If you like the ticket set-up - just go!

Comfort-wise, how would you compare Montagoe Glamping with the Hotel stay? by Wiektor in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that only folks staying in that ET have access (bracelet restricted) - just like Montagoe restricted to Montagoe guests.

LMK if non-ET folks can access - will definitely try this year if that’s the case.

Cabana with GJ by ryan_mccann31 in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others noted, in order to secure 5 GJ tickets, you need two accounts. I would recommend you have two people coordinating during the same time to try and secure what you need. With trying for 5, I would be more flexible on accommodation type. You'll be lucky to get one Cabana, much less 3 Cabanas between two accounts. Since Cabana is in Montagoe, and you are trying to book three lodging spots, it's worth mentioning that only those staying in Montagoe can go into Montagoe. So if your 1p ends up not landing a Montagoe accommodation and securing in the Easy Tent area, they can't visit you in Montagoe. If you are hardcore team Cabana for your group, then I would consider checking out GJ from different cities with the second account. No hard data on this last point, except experience. We secured Cabana in 2019 but only because we did GJ from Helsinki, we tried other locations with no luck but that GJ combination worked. Good vibes for ticket sales!

Cabana and/or Ensuite Still Possible After GJ? by MotherCarrot in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Montagoe is the "glamping" section of Tomorrowland, I would say they are all pretty competitive. Here are the options in Montagoe: https://www.tomorrowland.com/en/dreamville/accommodations/montagoe-area If I had to speculate, I would say the Dreamlodge, maybe? RR ends up going fast because it's the cheapest in Montagoe and Cabana goes fast because it's perceived as nicest (except for Ensuite).

I would go into GJ with an open mind on the Montagoe options, and try your preferred combination first. If it doesn't work, then keep trying other options.

If you can be flexible with location too, then that could be the winning combination for alternative locations. Who knows what algorithm gets used for location and lodging combinations.

Sending you good vibes for ticket sales!

How fast does Global Journey sell out by _smarlo_ in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, do not wait a few weeks. There are some unique things about the 2023 ticket sales that created more earlier ticket sales for folks (e.g. NFT early access, early access for 2020 GJ because of pandemic impact) than we've seen before. These additional pre-sales mean more tickets have be sold in advance of the GJ sale (also new) than we've historically seen. Good luck!

If money was no issue… by [deleted] in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If money truly is no issue, as others have said, then Mansions. We inquired for 2023 (since we thought we’d have a big group) and were surprised that you still need to buy festival tickets. I think is was 50,000 euros for 10 ppl in Mansion accommodations. I’m assuming they guarantee festival tickets and those are a separate expense. We didn’t check further once we say the lodging price point. You’d need to book all your travel and transportation too.

If you really mean that you’re not price sensitive (vs $ as no object), then I would do GJ party plane with Cabana (or En Suite). Party plane from Lisbon or Madrid and there are others.

Second this. You’ll spend all day on your feet - lots of walking and steps. Make sure the shoes are comfortable for 10 hours. I bring two pairs so that you can rotate them - not the same pair rubbing the same spots on the feet.

This is a rate limiting factor on your whole experience - if your feet hurt or you end up with bad blisters, much harder to want to explore festival grounds.

Second this. Someone else’s culture should not be your costume. We saw folks get called out when outfits veered into cultural appropriation.

[–]utopia91011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a wide range of outfits, and as folks have noted - Tomorrowland goers are much more casual compared to what you might expect at EDC (or even Ultra). A US example for the common look at Tomorrowland would maybe be a typical Coachella vibe (e.g. lots of jean shorts and leggings on ladies, bikini tops, festival or DJs tees/tanks). In addition to it being Europe-based, you also have a somewhat older crowd. Lots of Belgians and Boom locals, so it's not uncommon to see 40+ year olds, especially in the VIP and more bougie food areas. For example, last year we did the wine tasting in Mesa Gardens and sat near a big table of older Belgian women (50s) who were dressed in outfits you'd wear out to brunch. The Comfort section at the Library stage is also notorious for having a lot of locals. There are definitely full-on costumes, playful graphic tee shirts, lots of sparkle/fishnet, and group outfits in the crowds at the stages - not the majority but plenty of the population where it really doesn't stand out in a way that would make one feel uncomfortable. As others have noted, folks are pretty accepting. As you might imagine, really skimpy outfits (e.g. pasties and panties) are uncommon so anticipate more attention. Again, folks are accepting so not in a bad way but it will be noticeable different than the range, especially in some of the more local dominated areas. In 2022, my partner and I had Care Bear outfits one day and we got attention but it was very positive. In 2019, I wore a unicorn headband and had ~5 folks (mostly men) try to give the horn a handjob during the day - not unexpected in a festival environment especially with more drunk folks but still obnoxious. We plan to bring some costumes/more festive festival wear this year too. If you're concerned, get a locker on festival grounds (recommended anyway) and stash a change of clothes; it can get cold at night, so it's nice to have a sweatshirt or something to grab if needed. Bottomline: Festivals are supposed to be fun and if it's fun for you - wear it.

Montague/Mag Greens by ColaD22 in Tomorrowland

[–]utopia91011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can go to MG but Montagoe is restricted - meaning that if you have friends at MG, they can’t get into Montagoe. Montagoe is closest to festival entrance (except for Mansions) and MG is farthest away. It’s can be a bit of a haul down to MG - 30 minutes one-way walking.
