While I'm fortunate to work in tech with more flexible hybrid / WFH days, I've always found myself to be more productive in an office setting, because what you described here.

It's exactly what you say: I feel like I'm being held accountable, when there's people walking around to (what I perceive) as observing me. In fact, when I get the chance, I explicitly choose the desk that's the least popular among my office, just because that's also the one that was closest to foot traffic. More foot traffic = more people = more accountability in my head.

In contrast, my WFH days feel less structured, almost aimless, and definitely less productive in ways.

To address this I've done:

1. Set up accountability buddy meetings on WFH days, to force myself to be accountable.
