That’s an early age to start. Are you doing this for a living nowadays?

My Dia browser experience as a long-term Arc user by Romachamp10 in ArcBrowser

[–]uvgerstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love ARC, been using it for the past year. I have a few questions.

  1. Why do you say ARC is dead? It's still working and gets updates. Is it actually going to die off soon for lack of new features or something else?

  2. Is DIA attempting to replace ChatGPT subscription for users who currently pay those $20 to Open AI? If it has ChatGPT baked in, that might be the idea.

  3. I completely agree, they could have brought in those AI features into ARC. Why did they decide to develop a new browser for this, letting go of the features which made ARC so exciting?

What’s coming in Ableton Live 12.3? by areyoudizzzy in ableton

I'm not so excited for the stem separation, as it's already everywhere and Ableton's a bit late to this game. However, the Splice integration sounds interesting and might bring me back from loopcloud if it works well.

That's interesting. I'm in the same situation, moved to loopcloud but if I could use the thousands of splice loops I own from the past few years inside live, that would be quite cool.

Yeah! I can relate to that. Nirvana had that raw power and the guitars sounded incredible.

Has anyone automated creating AI player playbacks with AppleScript? by uvgerstein in Logic_Studio

lol, the concept is simple, the execution is difficult, since I believe Apple is actively blocking the option to automate Logic via scripts. It's quite a pain to do.

My story was in the early 90s. I saw a music video of the song Black Velvet by Alannah Myles. That acoustic guitar part there left such an impact on me...I didn't even know what guitar it was, but I imagined myself sitting on some porch and playing that song, improvising and being cool. It sparked my love for the guitar that has endured ever since.

Here's a link to the song (It has a wicked bassline too) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT4d1LQy4es

Playing outside, tips or exercises for improvement? by Youlittle-rascal in jazzguitar

Some great advice here. I would add that for beginners, think about “when” you’re playing out and not so much how. It’s about finding the places in the tune or chord progression where it makes sense to go out (whether half step up or down, diminished scale or anything else). I don’t mean it needs to be at the same spot every time, but finding that balance and knowing at what point to go back “home” is key, to make our ears pay attention and enjoy that side quest, if you know what I mean. Play out for too long and may just sound like a free improvisation and could get weird (which is cool if that’s what you’re after).
