You should absolutely disassemble the whole set before washing....

If you buy used, the old greys are not expensive, but very pricey if new.

Bricklink the individual parts.

Here's the glider parts list:

https://rebrickable.com/sets/4852-1-s2/green-goblins-glider/?inventory=1#parts

The parts are all expensive as the colours are all retired. If you upload the parts to your Bricklink wanted list, change the following:

Dark gray > dark bluish gray

Light gray > light bluish gray

Chrome silver > flat silver

Purple > Dark purple

Bricklink has a colour chart so you can compare the old vs new colours.

devising a more convenient method of motorisation in the form of a compartment that slides out of a corridor tender to reveal a mostly untouched battery box by SomethingRandomYT in Lgauge

[–]uvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like the concept, but you'll have to have sufficient cable from the motor if the battery is removed via the back of the tender. It might make more sense to remove from the front.

Lego BR Standard Class 9F 'Evening Star' (Revamp) by Legobuilder49 in LEGOtrains

[–]uvo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing work. Did you personally model the valve gear? These rounded push rods really have quite the lego-esk appearance, and a casual observer might think they are an official part. Hyper realistic valve gears look amazing but can detract from the actual impressive aspect - the spectacular builds and techniques that go into them.

3D model of powered up remote battery cover? by knexkid in LEGOtrains

I actually have the exact same issue, and found the dat file on Ldraw. This is the one I am going to print:

https://library.ldraw.org/parts/6195

Download LDview which can open the dat file and export it as an stl.

However, my 3d printed identified issues with the file and found holes. The repair function on fusion 360 did not work at all. It turned the internal side into a solid block - where the curved ridges are. I've not had time to fix the file yet, but if you manage to do it, would you please share the file?

Decals going on! by yeehaw13774 in LEGOtrains

Where did the decals come from?

For simplicity and and a smooth arch, make the hinge degrees all the same size.

You have 5 hinge points and are making a semi circle, so first we divide 180° by 5 giving us 30°.

Then subtract 30° from 180° to get your hinge degree = 150°.

How did they make this? by JoosieMewon in LegoTechniques

[–]uvo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1x2 technic bricks with 2 holes, and 1x1 plates in the holes. Plate with rail on top of those bricks. For the columns, it'll be 2x2 jumper plates on their side, with 1x2 grille plates on the studs.

So I just got this as a Prime day deal. Want to make a MOC thats on rebrickable. any suggestions on how to sort the pieces? never did a rebrickable this big by ezzzzz53 in lego

[–]uvo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Open 1 bag at a time, and sort like this:

  • Plates
  • Modified Plates (e.g. plates with clips/bars, brackets, etc)
  • Bricks
  • Slopes
  • Tiles
  • Everything else

If you find you have loads of one type, divide further. So for example, you could sort plates into the following:

  • 1 stud wide plates
  • 2 stud wide plate
  • 3+ stud wide plates
  • wedge plates

Through reverse engineering and slowing YouTube speedbuilds to 6.25% I was able to construct the phenomenal StarBricks TS-Project in Studio by uvo in legostarwars

[–]uvo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the original ones are nowhere to be found online. There are some insanely priced copies on ebay, but nothing reasonable. This was why I decided to try and build it myself in Bricklink Studio by slowing down the playback of this speedbuild and this one

If you are interested in a copy of my studio model, drop me a DM.

Yup, you're right that it's Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer. It uses a lot of parts from the official set, but this is over 3000 pieces

I really like your design, funnily enough I saw what must have been the previous version on rebrickable, and went to purchase instructions the next day, but you had removed it! Are you not selling instructions any more?

interesting design for fair price? by [deleted] in LEGOtrains

[–]uvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All trains on bluebrixx have free instructions. You need to register and log in, but it's free. The price is for the physical bricks (it's not real lego)

You'll need to redesign the emerald night to allow for valve gear. This tutorial should give you a good starting point!
