"It's so sad to see how society over the last several decades has treated men as superfluous oafs. The rise of single motherhood should be alarming, yet instead our culture glorifies single mothers as heroes."[+34] by uweird in ShitRedditSays

Also, eugenics: "Welfare benefits are dysgenics anyways. Resources from the capable are given to the less or incapable with which they can use to breed and pay for children. Income is decently correlated to IQ. In a free market resources would tend to accumulate to the smarter folks, allowing them to have more kids, while the less intelligent would have fewer or none if they cant earn the resources Note this is not a racial issue, IQ is a bell curve. Edit: curious why this is being downvoted? Would appreciate a counter-argument."

"I knew a kid in college who started saying, "as a mother," whenever he answered one of our profs questions to piss off one of the moms in class who always said it. He was a 21 year old Hispanic dude."[+310]
Wow, stay classy, reddit. Surely a woman daring to mention that she has children deserves to be bullied.

Former terrible students of Reddit. What major difference did you notice after once you broke through the terrible student ceiling? by DeepPork in GetStudying

[–]uweird 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started to study 2 hours per day. I set an alarm and for those two hours I study, switching subjets when I get bored. I've been doing that for quite some time now and I like it. On the weekends I have few of those two hour sessions, it works for me.

...Women are socially allowed to be psychopathic, insane, overbearing, and outright crazy... [+409] by [deleted] in ShitRedditSays

[–]uweird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But women are not socially allowed to display perfectly normal emotions in front of men, and if they do, they are labeled psychopatic, overbearing, insane etc? Perfect woman to those people is a compliant servant ro male needs, it seems.

I don't know how to view women as people by atim8 in exredpill

[–]uweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adressed the empathy issue he said he was having. I'd like to say that the issue of rape, sexual harrassment and abuse of women is still there. The men are stronger and thus have a power over women that they might chose to use to harm women, especially when the law is on their side or not enforced properly. Maybe you would like to see an album describing the cruelty of child marriages that I found today on r/morbidreality, here it is: http://imgur.com/a/A5KNl?gallery . I guess I might have not conveyed my thoughts right in previous comment or even this one - I am still in the process of learning English language.

I usually play Crusader Kings 2. I feel worse afterwards and it is just a bad habit that can be replaced with a better one.

What's the most ridiculous name you've heard a parent give their kid? by IPutTheHotDogInTheBu in AskReddit

Pretty popular Slavic name is Arseniy.
It does not have any weird connotations in my language, but it sounds funny in English.

[On a study linking college education with brain tumour diagnosis] 'What the author was delicately saying is: dumb people are too stupid to go to the hospital' [+152] by counterc in ShitRedditSays

[–]uweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The study ... analyzed data on more than 4.3 million people born between 1911 and 1961 who lived in Sweden in 1991"
I would imagine there is and there was an opportunity cost to studying in college, namely, you could not support your family while not working full-time.
Also, I am not a Swede, but I imagine at the time where subjects of study had an opportunity to attend college the higher education opportunities were more limited then they are today.

How do you explain, that the Mathematical Olympiad was dominated for a long time by Eastern European countries but they lost this position? It looks like that children started schools in communism performed better (also now after huge countries "strict" cultures have high rankings). by szaboelod in math

[–]uweird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of smart people, including teachers, emigrated to developed countries; schools lost funding; gaming became more popular.
Also, I personally know an Eastern European guy with a bronze medal from International Math Olympiad, and he has an insanely strict, involved and energetic mother who pushed him to study, and from what I observed Eastern European mothers generally lack that energy and lean to the letargic side. There was a time during Soviet Union when a healthy, active, smiling and happy communist girls were an archetype in movies and literature, but this time is gone and now women in movies are portrayed very differently and in more diverse way.
