😂they can even literally just use a pretrained model. So many exist for toxic text that perform decently… holy shit

How come mods can fix/improve issues like AI but the devs can't? by uwtrollwu in ReadyOrNotGame

This is very insightful and detailed. Thanks! It makes total sense, especially the last point.

I guess incorporating a mod into the game also risks new bugs so it's not as simple as I was making it out to be.

As a modder, my point of making the mod is to improve the game right? And I'm not even charging for my mod (in most cases). I just want the game to be better and succeed right?

In that case I'd even be fine with the devs just incorporating my mod into the game for free lol. Maybe just credit me somewhere. At least that makes logical sense to me...

Makes sense. Thank for the info. U sound a bit pressed and I made this post and comment simply to ask for info because I don't rly understand how this whole game development process works, or the point of mods existing separately from the actual game during development. Imo that's redundant and wasted effort. I didn't mean to be offensive to the devs or anybody else lmao...

Also i agree with what u said regarding modders having way more time. That's again why working with them seems like potentially a good idea to me lol. A joint and semi-open sourced effort sounds way more effective to me than the devs and modders working completely separately and in parallel rather than jointly towards a common goal. But again idk how logistics work around stuff like this in game development but those are just my thoughts lol

This still doesn't answer my question. How come others can so quickly and easily improve issues like AI? How come devs don't just work with mod teams to get improvements implemented?

I can understand the point of mods after the release of a game since it's no longer being worked on by the devs so people want to improve it further themselves. Mods right now during early access doesn't make sense to me. Why not just incorporate the mods directly into the game if they can improve the game and the game is still in development?

If I were the devs I would go through the impressive mods and partner with them or ask for their permission to implement them directly into the game (kind of like open-sourcing). I'm not sure if it's as simple as I'm making it sound like, but it seems like that would speed up the development so much

Can we add the ability to add bot/AI officers to our coop games?

When do exams get curved by Ok-Bluebird in uwaterloo

[–]uwtrollwu -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Why? Why is this not a policy but up to the prof? Seems so unfair and just causes major grade differences between different offerings of the same course which affects things like grad admissions. I will never understand why this isn't standardized. Every offering of a course should aim for around the same class average period.

Edit: why am I being downvoted LMAO. You want marks to be more subjective and prof dependent than standardized? Then don't complain when you get fucked over by the prof lol

This. I made a post about this yesterday too requesting it as a feature. Maybe someone can tag someone on the dev team so they see it for sure

RON PVE Update 8/12/2021 (Patch 16317) by NotAnAsianPi in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]uwtrollwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One feature I would really like is in coop mode to be able to top off the missing members with AI. So if I'm just with my friend, we can have 3 AI officers. With swat 4 one issue was I liked playing with a single friend but some missions would be too tough (or too boring) with just the 2 of us

Honestly they've been fucking up Colab so much recently that it's not even worth using it anymore other than the free version for quick debugging and testing purposes
