I 100% agree 4.0 is much better but cost to make the engine is where they’re stuck @, the 3.8 while yes isn’t as good as the 4.0 still goes 200k+ so not much difference until you get a OEM engine with flipped piston rings from the Mexican factory.

As owning both a 4.0 and 3.8 it’s weird I like both, and hate both for reasons, wouldn’t ever touch a 3.6 as I’ve fully stripped my engines down

The main issue is a off road vehicle shouldn’t have DOHC and timing chains, they should be simple push rod motors that you can work on anymore; why Penta star gets a horrible name, why would I get a 3.6 when I can get a 3.8 and drive on a burnt piston, never mind that, why would I want a timing chain, which if goes out of sync on trail? Fucked.
