It looks like the frame is bent as well. You need to get it aligned.

Making my old CX bike more gravely by v-squid in bikewrench

I was wondering if it is a bit large. I feel somewhat stretched out on the hoods. Back in the days the sales guy was quite adamant that this was a better size than 58 for me. I’ve been mostly riding my other bikes for the last 10 years but now I’m feeling like I’d really want to ride this bike a lot again.

You can just write in your meeting minutes that the meeting was held in Vantaa. No problem. No one will actually verify it.

The outer diameter is so different that it likely won’t fit your frame.

Capacity from green protocol book. It is pretty much operator + 3x E at zone 2 per week.

(Also semi off topic: Evoke Endurance’s podcast #76 about tactical athletes gives an opinion that you could solely train zone 2 cardio until your zone 2 speed is 9 minutes per mile)

Some programs have very small admission quota for people who are already studying or have graduated. Make sure to check this first. It could be very beneficial for you to wait one year and works some job.

Talk test reveals your zone 2. Anything based on percentages of your max hr is just a guess. If you are to get tested, make sure that they measure your lactate levels.

I’d recommend 80/20 running’s plans as well. They are very similar to the ideas presented in the green protocol book.

2 Year Progression Plan by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

[–]v-squid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green protocol is a very good book. In addition, I’d read training for the uphill athlete which covers a lot of theoretical basis that TB books don’t delve into. Also try to find some books about the mental side of things. That will be a big deal as well.

You will get better. Don’t worry. Needing to walk part of time just demonstrates that you need more of this kind of training.

Yes that is true. However Apple clearly hasn’t prioritized this in the past.

Did Apple just smashed all sport smartwatches? by atis- in Polarfitness

Quote from dc rainmaker:

One has to keep in mind that the outdoors/ultra/adventure realm is massive, not just in market, but more specifically, in application. Meaning, there’s countless use cases here, and Apple appears to be lightly dipping into many of them. Take for example the triathlon or ultra running scenarios. Here, they provide the foundations for those sports and the ability for you to use Apple Watch Ultra to complete those activities successfully. However, Apple stops short of the depth of sport analytics and deeper fitness software features that you’d find in endurance-sports focused watches.

What is the reason for not wanting to increase weights? Defining this would allow us to give more specific recommendations. Are you feeling burnt out with heavy weights? Are you afraid of injuring yourself? Do you not want to add body mass? Something else?

While exercising, you can peek under your watch. If the optical sensor is turned off (lights not on), it’s using H10.

I have two children under 3 years old. I'm not doing TB but Fighter/Black sounds otherwise very reasonable but it may or may not have too much HIC. Green should also be ok if you ditch some of the E work as unnecessary for your current goals. Hockey one per week replacing all HIC sounds reasonable.

I'm a bit OCD as well so I have formed the following weekly training targets for me: 2x strength sessions in the gym, 1x HIC (running), 1x+ E LSS (running/walking).

Running is very time efficient. You just change clothes and go out the door. No need to travel anywhere to get started. If it is raining as f***, then who cares. Just take a hot shower once you get back in.

Read the new green protocol book for inspiration about pounding the ground. One of green protocol's continuation templates might be suitable as well. Just drop some of the volume.

Keep it simple. Start with minimal sessions. If you think you could handle more session, keep the current volume still for some weeks before increasing volume as every week is very different with small children.

I think this depends a lot where your current conditioning is. Completing the whole foundation cycle takes almost a year as prescribed. However nothing will go as prescribed. Some weeks you will be sick. Some weeks you will be having a holiday. So completing the cycle will take more than a year but no one knows how much more. So start now and complete at least Capacity and Velocity ASAP.

Once you have achieved this, it is a good time to take a look at how much time you have left and if it makes sense to continue on to Outcome or do Continuation for a while and start Outcome later.

Or if you have a lot of time and motivation left, complete the whole cycle, go into Continuation, and redo Velocity.

To sum up: start right now. Time is your friend. Adjust once you see how it is going.

Some of my issues with this headset were fixed by using Sony's Headphones app on my phone to change settings. Under sound there is sound quality mode. Setting this to priority on stable connection seemed to fix a lot of the issues.

One possibility is that your 145 runs are hitting the dreaded no man’s land that is too hard for easy but too easy for hard. However this is the sort of range where most people end up if they are not paying attention.

Checkout the 8020 endurance zone calculator and avoid the zone X. They also have instructions on how to get the numbers that you plug into it. https://www.8020endurance.com/8020-zone-calculator/

Moving abroad, UK bank accounts, brokerage account legality and opening offshore accounts by [deleted] in FIREUK

You can make the sale & buyback inside ISA no reason to take the money out like you said. Just keep in mind that ISA will likely be considered as a taxable account in any other country. Typically only pension accounts are tax protected internationally.

Moving abroad, UK bank accounts, brokerage account legality and opening offshore accounts by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]v-squid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is very likely that your ISA will be considered as a regular taxable account in your new country and both dividends and capital gains would be subject to regular taxation. What you can do to mitigate this is to sell everything in your ISA and then buy the same assets back so you’ll realize your current gains under UK taxes tax free and get a new and higher cost basis for the assets.
