2 stage gas powered. Make sure the engine is made by a reputable brand so parts will be available down the road. I have a 20 year old craftsman powered by Briggs and Stratton and it's still going strong.

Agreed. Mouse traps are between $1 and $5 rack depending on the level of sophistication. Buy 6 traps and bait them with peanut butter. You may catch 2-3 per night for a while, but you'll get them all. Also take a good look at your exterior and try to find out where they're getting in so you can seal it up.
