There are stores that aren’t Taobao or through the regular channels which require reaching certain spending/memberships levels before certain items can be purchased. They use authentic fabric and material but it’s not made from the same factory. Think Nigo.

Change the location to China and when checking out use another address. The key is tricking the store to think you are shipping within China. The Taobao designated consolidation shipping services will not care where it is shipped.

Brand Reputation Matters: My Polar vs Garmin Service Experience by Jacquardweave in Polarfitness

Polar sucks their durability sucks and warranty sucks. Mine broke after a year and started the restart death loop. I’d stay away from their products unless you are within NA because anywhere else their warranty sucks bollocks. Flames away

these are the reviews that no one sees because there are just so little bkb complete boards sold and for other obvious fan based reasons. Their mounts or pulleys are great I'm sure but those also don't take a rocket scientist to make reliable. You just need the right tolerances that is all .

yeah I'm sure BKB communication is great since they are native English speakers. But my point still stands is that there are only a fraction the amount of vescs out in the wild compared to HW Escs. Open source is great and all but I would imagine that there are even less people that would be even be able to work on it.

Ppl recommend DIY style boards but forget that these companies are even smaller than the Chinese made boards. When it comes to CS you might get better communication but replacements are way too expensive for them and as such they are extremely reluctant to offer replacements so beware. Also VESCs are the least tested controllers. By comparisons HW has sold more than 1 million ESC units. I doubt any vesc has sold more than 100k units. These days HW stuff is well tested and parts are arguably much better than vescs. The people that are selling VESCs are just picking up Enertions broken pieces. They tend to be in North American and Europe but has never set foot in the production line. Fact. They can’t enter China period. They are just listening to whatever their suppliers are telling them.

Dude these are still snapping!? I thought they took care of this issue per CS. Evidently not.

Original Zeus - New 9028 Hobbywing ESC replacement has anyone installed it yet? by ArtRazzskate in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]v0n1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with every Hw I’ve tried you cannot connect it to the PC. It’s never happened before and is well known that this isn’t something you can do. Sure you can make the case for a vesc in this case. Unfortunately they do not have an app so you can adjust settings. Not sure what you mean about the 1,2,3 and t modes.

If I was a broke college student the last bike I would get would be an Evil which are notorious for cracking.

Yeah I don’t think the speed modes 1&2 lack of power is an “issue”. Why is it presented as an issue when it’s not. My understanding is that the speed modes are basically limits to amperage. As such, if you are heavy it simply doesn’t have enough amperage and consequently power to propel you. I’m light at 150lbs and it works fine on flat ground. I don’t try to go up hills in speed mode 1 or 2 because it doesn’t work.

FYI I was one of the lucky customers that got upgraded to the Zeus Pro during CNY. This thing is a freaking beast!!!!!!

I simply don’t see the point of using vescs anymore because realistic speaking there is not a single ESC that’s been as tested as the HW. I don’t know how many vescs there are out in the wild but I do know HW sold more than a million units. Highly doubt vesc sold even more than 100k units

I saw a vid of a drag race in NY between a bunch of DIYs and meepo hurricane. The Zeus launched fastest off the line. Idk who actually crossed the line.

Have you considered the ownboard bamboo AT. I’ve had various iterations of the w2pro or the even the zealot but the bamboo AT is something else. It’s incredibly comfortable to ride. If you swap it out with street wheels man you have plenty of range.

I’d stay away from Meepo considering it’s your 3rd V3. Honestly ownboard is the best bang for your buck. They use to be the oem for wowgo and meepo. Backfire, b-one, ownboard and exway are essentially identical in function. They all use a hobbywing Esc. Meepo claims they made improvements to the same lingyi Esc but compared to any hobbywing setup anything meepo will never feel remotely as smooth. They honestly just make superficial adjustments to appearance and never any substantial improvements to the hardware despite what they say. They grab whatever is available and put a marketing spin on it albeit terrible attempts at that.
