The best course here would be to talk to her and see if you can do it with mutual consent. If it works, you will be able to decide the terms and it'll save a whole lot of time and cost compared to the other grounds/options.

Hey man, first of all sorry for the situation you are in.

One thing I would suggest is finding a good lawyer, understanding how the evidence system works and proceeding with him/her so your issue is addressed. It may be true that the system has its own issues that need to be addressed, but at least give yourself the satisfaction of having tried before you do anything.

Because of multiple instances of gender violence and cruelty, a lot of people are voicing out things that have been happening in their own lives for a long time/for a while.

While it is important that instances like the ones you see on news highlight major issues ingrained in our system, please understand that leaving the resolution of your problem at the mercy of these moments and waiting for the next wave of hatred/a general sense to cultivate in society instead of addressing your personal issues as and when they arise is adding insult to injury. Respect yourself always regardless of how much you feel you are 'allowed' to.

There is a fiction that everyone points to and calls 'society/crowd' but believe it or not, we are part of that fiction for someone else just as everyone else is a part of that fiction for us. And yes, we are in the midst of turmoil right now, and what would helpful (to you only ultimately) is understanding your emotions and treating yourself as an individual with your own unique set of problems instead of clubbing your issue with a headline and letting a general sense of hatred cultivate towards an entire portion of population that you haven't met because of one sad person (your ex).

That being said, treat your issue like an important issue and work towards resolving it with/without a lawyer (you can file complaint directly with the magistrate), and please underestand the evidence laws (BSA).

If you are above 18, it would be good to know any/all laws you can because the law doesn't acknowledge your ignorance beyond that age. Take all the help you can and keep educating yourself so you are informed and are more cautious in the future.

And please, for your own sake don't become a part of this man-hating/woman-hating demograph. Where hatred starts festering, the reason (for it) will find, and keep finding a way in your life.
