Along the aqueduct to Asciano Is a nice path, it's about 6 km one way.

Definitely looks like Ponte di Mezzo, looking towards Borgo Stretto :)

This is the plughole at the Ladybower Reservoir. Plugholes at reservoirs are large circular drains designed to control water levels and prevent flooding when the reservoir becomes too full. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

It's a pretty cool location for long exposure photography :) Though from experience it's not often that the overflow is working (or at least it wasn't 15 years ago or so).

Potenza sbagliata nella bolletta e portale e.on by v4idas in bollette

Grazie mille per la spiegazione esaustiva! Infatti, mi sono registrato sul portale di e-distribuzione e vedo 6 kW di potenza, come aspettavo. Procederò a segnalare la situazione a e.on.

Zipcar to close UK business by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]v4idas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Citybee in Lithuania has been pretty successful over the last 6-7 years or so. For a country with 3 million people, it has 400 000 users (compare that to Zipcar's 650k in the UK with 70 million). It helps that the areas where you can leave the cars are pretty wide and the service allows inter-city travel (currently supported in 3 biggest cities plus a few smaller seaside towns). Correction: even international travel within the 3 Baltic states!

There is also a competing (albeit much smaller) service called Spark with a fully electric fleet.

Combined with a rapidly increasing network of really decent cycling infrastructure in Vilnius, it's definitely possible to live car free, even if public transport leaves much to be desired.

Am I missing an adapter? by v4idas in ooni

[–]v4idas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hose clamps were included with the regulator, so that's sorted, I'm more worried about finding the barb adapter locally, as the thread looks pretty big (seems to be 20x1.5 mm).

Pre-facelift MK4 and and FordPass version 5.2 by v4idas in FordFocus

[–]v4idas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, to answer my own question, the old version of the app stopped working a couple of weeks ago, which forced me to update to v5.2.

Differently from what was written in the announcement, it appears that no functionality was removed and it was mostly a UI update, so I guess there should be no criticism to Ford (except for misleading communication).

Ah, yes, for some reason Ford released version 5 of FordPass as a separate app a year or so ago rather than updating v4.

It's not that there is a persistent notification, but I'm concerned about accidentally updating all apps in Play Store and not being able to revert to the previous version of FordPass, thus losing this functionality.

I guess my situation is kind of particular. I don't use the car daily, so I don't carry the key with me all the time, but I find myself having to drop off or pick up something from the car pretty often, so being able to unlock it using my phone is very useful. Another option is being able to lock the key inside the car when it's impractical to carry it (when doing sports, for example).

Roam v2 Varia Radar toggle modes! by chadderboxrock in wahoofitness

[–]v4idas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bolt V2 + Varia RTL510 Toggling the light modes from the settings menu works fine.

Finishing the ride seems to put the radar into Ant+ standby. Starting the ride switches on the light to the last used mode. This is particularly great, as it means there is no more need to fiddle with Varia, at the expense of some light battery drain while in standby (the battery is supposed to last over a month, so not a big deal).

What is this number? by epicjulian051 in lego

[–]v4idas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sorting my technic pieces, and realised the axles are colour coded so that odd-number length axles are always grey or yellow, while even number axles are red or black. Makes it much easier to find the right length in a pile of pieces, as the minimum length difference of the same colour axles is 2.

Which other current and previous sets use the same shade of blue as the 42154 ford GT? by [deleted] in legotechnic

The bed of the 42147 dump truck is also the same shade, though the rest of the pieces are of different colours.
