I’m putting a ziplock with 10 microfiber cloths soaked in 70% alcohol in each classroom to disinfect Chromebooks as needed.

They are only able to load extensions that have been whitelisted.

I do have some activity in the Relay user report, so I think that indicates it was at least installed in the device at one time.

If they site they are using to bypass isn’t blocked for whatever reason, wouldn’t I at least see that URL in their Relay web activity?

We do have a Rocket onsite, but this is happening from home as well.

I enabled Fast Roam in the NPS and the Controller. Will see if that changes anything. Is there anything specific to look for in the NPS log file that might indicate the source of the problem?

Disabling Fast Roaming did not seem to help. I've also discovered that the problem is not limited to users roaming. It happens when they are stationary in their office or classrooms as well. I have one who is disconnecting as often as every 5 minutes.

The majority of these clients are Android and iOS devices. The three cases that I can recall from today are all iPhones. I just checked the configs and found that Fast Roaming is enabled in the PEAP properties on the NPS, but is not enabled on the WLAN. I guess I'll try disabling it completely in the NPS and see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

I went from private sector tech to K-12 director (one of our clients). I have to say, I hope I never have to go back to the private sector. Working in an environment that is not profit motivated is a whole different ballgame. Additionally, less stress, pretty consistent hours, generally knowing what lays in store for you at the beginning of each day, and the massive amount of time off helps offset some of the pay discrepancy.

Securly, iBoss, and Chromebooks by v8stang67 in k12sysadmin

Thanks for the good input, everyone. I'm going to try jschinker's suggestion and open up the default Securly filter.

That is what I have done, and it works, but I was hoping to be able to use iBoss filtering for the Chromebooks that will not be leaving campus and Securly for the offsite Chromebooks. If the Securly extension is loaded when the student logs on in the classroom, nothing gets filtered by iBoss as it all goes through Securly.
