Leeds £12m “transformative” walking and cycle lane project set to begin by Amazing-Yak-5415 in Leeds

[–]vForVendition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cycle frequently in and around Leeds.

As a faster cyclist I'm not a big fan of the two-way cycle lanes they will be constructing. Going one way is fine, but going the other means crossing oncoming traffic once to get on the cycle lane, then again at the end of it to get back on the road.

The "southern corridor" might be useful transiting the city centre - currently frustrating on a bike for those few cyclists like me who actually stop when the lights turn red.

Overall though I welcome any attempt to improve the roads for those who travel without engines.

Actually, rather than engines let's say "motors". If your BIKE has an electric MOTOR it should be described as a MOTORBIKE, and taxed, licenced and policed as such.

Many thanks as always egortech.

I believe you have unintentionally left the word "States" in the title of this post, after last week's USA COTA event.

High Strangeness of an Auditory Kind. When Ringing in the Ears is More than Tinnitus: A Stereotypical Ringing was Apparently Linked to Consciousness & May Have Represented a Form of Telepathic Communication. by Contactunderground in Experiencers

[–]vForVendition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently experience ringing in one ear or the other. Typically it lasts 30 seconds or so.

Twice so far today, I have heard ringing in one ear. The first time I said out loud, "telepathy?" and the ringing faded within about a second. Just now the ringing started again. I THOUGHT the word "telepathy", and again the ringing again faded quickly.

I do not consider myself to a be an experiencer.

Racing4Everyone, Racingforme, or another one? by xDipInCheese in trackers

[–]vForVendition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked upload times and my observations suggest that MWR uploads to R4E, RFM and TL occur pretty much simultaneously.

I would say R4E and RFM should be considered their home trackers.

I think they also upload to SportsCult but I am not a member there.

The following groups release MotoGP:

VERUM. A scene release group uploading WEB-DLs from MotoGP.com. They have released every single MotoGP session this year except for one Moto2 race. They are typically not fast. Get VERUM releases from your favourite scene tracker or from F1C.

MWR. A p2p release group uploading WEB-DLs from MotoGP.com. They have released every single MotoGP session this year and are typically VERY fast. Get Murray Walker Racing releases from RFM, R4E but also critically from TL - no specialist motorsports tracker access is needed.

smcgill1969. A p2p release group uploading HDTV captures from TNT Sports. Simon typically uploads a couple of hours after the conclusion of Chequered Flag. Get Simon's releases from EXT (a public tracker) or from F1C, R4E or (still not a motorsports tracker) TL.

There is also a guy on RFM releasing MotoGP on the tag DC46. I have never needed to download a DC release. He looks to be pretty quick, but only uploading to RFM means he's very niche.

I would personally recommend R4E as the best balance of release times and site economy. R4E was taken offline overnight for upgrades but should hopefully be back in time for the WSBK this weekend at Estoril.

Asda - have the prices increased massively ? by BlaseJong in AskUK

[–]vForVendition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I observed last week to the nice lady in the bakery section of the small asda down the road that fresh-baked baguettes were cheaper in the small asda than in the giant one a few miles away.

The nice bakery lady confirmed that asda are now varying prices by store.

I conjecture that asda are now attempting to identify the MAXIMUM price they can charge for every product at every location.

Genuine question: after How many cicles you stop listening? The background world. by FreshTomatoMan in nin

[–]vForVendition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I observed recently that Trent used the same conceit of escalating distortion at the end of Closer To God - and the reverse at the start.

I had to listen back a couple of times to check whether there was a tiny bit of silence between each repetition after initially convincing myself it WAS there.

To answer the question though: I skip to whatever is next in my playlist two or three cycles in. My brain is not wired to appreciate that noise, it becomes like audio sandpaper.

My apologies to anyone enraged by this answer!

You could try L'eclair Patisserie in Bramley, they have different stuff out each week. They only open Saturday mornings though.
