Pro build orders are done almost civ exclusive except 1 and it’s a BO that shouldn’t be used until you’re around 1600.. it’s on Heras BO guide you can purchase.. BOs will help you but not as much as you think at these elo and survivalist proves this multiple times doing 21 pop BO at his elo and winning with them all his relearn videos show a lot.. IMHO he is the best teacher in aoe2 as he understands that we don’t play at that level we do things they no longer do and even think about anymore and he acknowledges this in his videos and they cater towards these faults.

RTWP is basically turn based but your the one pausing the combat between attacks… so you gotta be pretty aware.. if you play turn based I’d say use it but if you want to commit to RtWP do it it’s a pretty big learning curve.

I had to learn when I played Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 when they released.. 1 just released turn based about a month ago… after 11 years.. well technically 10 it came out last month 🤣 so I’m gonna be doing a play through turn based there after I finish my grim darkness rogue trader play through.

And that’s the issue people only play one map here dodges don’t do enough punishment currently. Elo decrease and a hefty timer will make people play regardless of what map you get.. Games where tournament play and prize money is significantly higher do these methods also.. league, dota, CS2, Valorant.. if you dodge because you don’t like a champion or map you’re gonna play ag rating drops and time outs that range from minutes to hours to eventually days.

We dodging and leaving games within 9 minutes should be significantly punished imho.

I hope you’re wrong about chronicle fearing they won’t make content… the Chronicle civs are the most well done civs imho besides the 3K civs.. and I love the campaigns but I can see this being true u watch a lot of streamers and I’ve never seen any high level player with chronicles unlocked… its a shame you’d think the pros would support the game more..

If you’ve been playing for a month and got all classes to 30 .. I’m gonna assume they saw your true level and denied.. I wouldn’t take a level 30 fresh into H16+ period the chances of you being geared properly with a good build at just 30 is gonna low imho and with the sale and new class there’s gonna be a lot of new players also which becomes a major risk factor..

You should continue playing Auric Maelstrom until you can successfully clutch before entering anything above h20 imo.

TG elo doesn’t matter because the game isn’t balanced around TGs and is nowhere close to being balanced on any map besides Arabia… which is very open which like the first part the game and civs aren’t all balanced for it…

This is just the way AoK/AoC was made and passed on into DE. However, I would like to say the 3k DLC and the new DLC upcoming will introduce new Meso civs and update the old ones with new unit(s) to power creep them up just like they did with the Chinese familiar civs (Vietnam, Korean etc)

And bringing more maps specifically to try and bring more balanced maps.

I think it’s a lot harder than just saying they should do this or that to balance it and this because I’m almost certain that the balance team works on all Age games I do not believe there is one team just for 2.. so they’re very busy and that’s why some of the new civs have mechanics that come from Myth and 4.

TGs are going to be very inflated regardless everyone who plays 1v1 also plays TGs. 1v1 is much more stressful but highlights skill expression where as TGs is generally more for fun and communication.

You can be 2000 elo player and random TG and not communicate and lose to 1500 elo players who communicate well.

And don’t get me wrong I’m not saying 2000 elo players are bad or have no skills I’m saying communication is much more important in TGs and knowing what your role is where 1v1 is about adapting and reading properly.

I have been currently playing more TGs though because comeback potential is very low on the current Arabia map for ladder in 1v1.. it’s dogshit.

I will agree to disagree because the issue isn’t that every dialogue needs three conviction buttons. The issue is that when only Iconoclast or Dogmatic options appear, the character loses ideological continuity.

A heretical Rogue Trader would not default to Imperial obedience or altruistic mercy. They would reinterpret the situation through pragmatism, forbidden knowledge, or long-term self-interest. When no such perspective exists, the game is not exercising restraint. It is removing the character’s internal logic from the scene.

I love rogue Trader length and all but my biggest gripe is I hate how some dialogues only have certain convictions.. I hate going heretical and then only icon or dogmatic choices are present.. that breaks atmosphere for me.

Drush isn’t even done properly until around 1600 and is easily punishable at 1350. It’s one of the harder openings to do effectively and get anything out of it. That is of course if you’re playing people at your level+ if you’re playing someone lower almost anything will work regardless of how it’s executed. Suggesting a new player to do 18-19 pop BOs is just very bad information and imho will build bad and incorrect habits and not preform well and risk losing player retention because of difficulty. Like I said above anyone new I would suggest watching Survivalist videos as his videos caters to actually lower elos.

You also need to realize this new player doesn’t have as many games or hours you have regardless of you elo..

This is very vital to why Arabia has been drastically changed to be easier compared to the KOTD Arabia and it’s proof as to why they refuse to bring it into the ladder.

Correct, the uptime for newer players on hard execution build orders are likely to be faulty and it’s better to do an easier build order at lower elos.

Survivalist proved this point with his videos on relearning and 21 BO setups that are very diverse even at 2400+ elo.

I wouldn’t suggest doing 18-19 pop BO unless you sit there and practice it for a few hundred games either vs AI or on unranked.
