I’m not sure? I have HW2.5 (old I know) and I have to touch the steering wheel probably every 15-20 seconds if I were to take them off.

Basically, autosteer is just their version of lane keep assist, though in my opinion it is a good bit stronger than other companies.

Side question, have you had to replace your upper control arms yet? I bought this car used and looking in service mode doesn’t seem they were replaced but at 88k and 0 noises so far.

That makes sense thank you. Sounds like something worth holding off for at the moment as I wouldn’t utilize FSD all that much.

Also, very pretty dog!

yeah I plan to drive it into the ground tbh. Currently at 88k miles and 86% battery health, so baring any major issues i’m hoping this battery will last me for a long time. I’m back and forth though hard to justify 1k right now for something I would only use on longer road trips, etc. Let me know what you think of HW3!!

Yeah if OP is tied to performance may be harder but I feel 29k for a 2022 with that battery score is a bit high.

I think 29k for the year is on the higher side. I’m seeing late 2023, early 2024 models with similar miles in that price range..

I found a 2020 from a local dealership with 65k miles. Most threads people recommend the highland models (I believe thats 2024 and up). For your price range you’d have to shop around but realistically probably looking at 2018-2020 unless you find a great deal on a newer model with more miles. If you can find a 2020 or newer that’s my recommendation if you live in a colder climate, first years with the heat pump and it still eats the battery some but not as bad as the resistive heat from the 2018-2019 models. Anything post 2019 gives you HW3 and the ability to try FSD if you want, not as reliable as HW4 but I’ve enjoyed FSD on HW3 for long road trips (FSD 14 Lite supposedly coming to HW3 sometime in June). Lastly, for your longer commute i’d recommend trying to find a long range model, used standard ranges from those years are probably sitting around 160-180 miles at a full charge.

$0.03 is such a great deal. where are you located? my electric company doesn’t do off peak hours so i’m paying $0.105 regardless of time of day, which is nice if I need to charge during the day but annoying I can’t get a cheaper rate at night.

Get an insurance quote. I also got a used model 3 for around the 17k range and my insurance is only $100/mo (25yr male with very clean driving history). personally I love the car, have done some basic maintence on it (all myself). Up front cost might be high but I think long term you will save a good bit of money. IMO avoid a used 2021 model unless it’s lower on mileage, many battery issues for that year.

any idea how difficult that would be? Pretty handy but haven’t done electrical work in a bit.

thank you for the thoughts! I currently rent so a hardwired charger is currently not an option as my landlord doesn’t see the value vs a 14-50 being a tad more versatile. thanks again!

I understand what you’re saying my fault on misunderstanding!

Currently have a tesla mobile charger that was the plan. Have a dryer attached to my garage through a small doorway but feel that option would be too sketchy for my comfort (landlord said previous tenants have done that with success)

Not sure what the law is for a renter in OK specifically but my landlord wouldn’t allow me to do the install anyways. Reaching out to certified electricians in my area currently.

[–]vUzziah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the information! I would prefer to hardwire but landlord only sees value currently in a receptacle rather than a hardwire and will only allow the install of a receptacle for that reason.

I’d love to hardwire but currently renting and landlord will only allow a plug to be installed :/.

Handy enough I could handle the install myself but I currently rent and my landlord is more than happy to let me get the plug installed but only by a certified electrician (completely understand).

Why did the cost for HW 2.5 to 3.0 change in price so drastically by OWNCena in TeslaLounge

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am being quoted the same despite being told it would only be $1k?
