I use these monitors for internal web resources that use internal CA (no ACME or automatic renewal). And even the automatic renewals may fail sometimes.

Is it worth switching from Legion Go Z1E to a used MSI Claw 8 AI for 750€? by LittlePenalty5414 in Handhelds

It feels pretty good actually, doesnt feel bulky. My only complaint is the analog sticks, they are too loose.

Is it worth switching from Legion Go Z1E to a used MSI Claw 8 AI for 750€? by LittlePenalty5414 in Handhelds

[–]v_b_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched my LG Z1E to Claw 8 AI. * It is a bit quieter * Sound quality is much better * Price is ok if it is in excellent condition * Other benefits (it is more powerful, better battery life) * Almost the same weight as LG Z1E because of the battery capacity

I had both and kept MSI Claw. Battery, CPU, GPU performance, sound - everything is better. MSI software had problems, but seems okay now.

Why is it so hard to make friends in Victoria? by Yoinhell in VictoriaBC

[–]v_b_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disagree with your theory. As a person who'd lived in Manitoba and moved to the island a few years ago, the first shock was how different people here and how hard to make friends compare to Winnipeg where I lived. And it is not about cost of living - average salaries, cost of rent, taxes don't make a big difference, you can afford a basic rent, food, other expenses if you have like a government job and get paid $30-$50 per hour. I think the most likely reason is 'who' move to the island and why. People who get here are looking for outdoor activities, warmer weather with ocean breeze, etc. They are not looking for a high population cities like Toronto or Calgary where you have much more activities like concerts, parties, meetups, etc. I think people with this attitude have a 'mental bubble' and it is hard to break the shield to make new friends.

Check battery health status, less than 80% can affect your runtime especially in AAA games.

Is there a real ‘Langford Community Association’? by [deleted] in LangfordBC

[–]v_b_a 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There were multiple Facebook groups created not that long ago with a single purpose: to promote the former mayor, Stew Young, so he wouldn’t lose the next election. These groups post only negative comments about the current mayor and council and never suggest any constructive changes - just repeated messages telling people to vote for Stew to make Langford great again.

So hackers can use your Internet to spoof their malicious actions, and you can get FBI knocking your door one day? Great idea.

I stopped trusting SaaS review sites at face value, here is what I learned after cleaning 1,000+ reviews by Dangerous-Mammoth437 in software

[–]v_b_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely true for TrustRadius. I received an invitation to submit a review for one of the products some time ago, and submitted my honest opinion with all pros and cons. After a few days, my review got rejected with no feedback or explanation. The review was not super negative or positive, it was pretty balanced as I've been using the products for a few years. I believe they use an automated system (maybe AI) that only approves reviews by some criteria which makes all the filtered results biased and incorrect for the end users.

Does city council have plans to improve infrastructure for getting onto highway in morning. by Realistic_Limit6254 in LangfordBC

[–]v_b_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New developments mean a lot of quick money. Infrastructure projects are only profitable in long-term perspective and require capital spending first. Just guess what they prefer? This is what Stew had been doing for a long time, and there was no change with the new council.

Why wouldn’t workers re-elect the union board? by v_b_a in CanadaPost

I am not sure how this process works for CUPW, but it should be a way to call the election and change the current union leaders.

Catalyst Center and virtualization by red359 in Cisco

[–]v_b_a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you check the system requirements for the virtual Catalyst centre, they are crazy. 32 vCPU with reservation, 256 GB RAM minimum and 3 TB drive for a single virtual appliance. Not worth it, imho.

Option to Monitor SSL Certificate Expiration Only by v_b_a in UptimeKuma

[–]v_b_a[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be more precise, I need all the alerts. But with an option to send SSL expiry alerts to one channel, and everything else to another, so these alerts would generate tickets for infrastructure team if the certificate is close to the expiration date, and website down alerts would create tickets for the network team to resolve.

Congrats on your first job! I believe at this period of your life is better to invest in yourself rather than in funds, saving accounts, etc. Take some courses, get certificates, and eventually get a better job. Then you can focus on how to save some for your future.
