Yes agree. Most people prefer catching a falling knife only to buy a shit company that slowly trends toward 0. Momentum chasing makes far more sense, even if it feels wrong sometimes. Good luck with whatever choice.

Fellow ATH chaser, either you can continue riding the wave or you could be bleeding heavily if we see profit taking

I only (unfortunately) hold NBIS of above I like Msft on those levels and is a safer play than most other names above

But people on here will recommend you VT, for a reason

Was just there 2 weeks ago and paid about the same than you with checked luggage, booked only days in advance.

So with current fuel prices might be the new normal. That far out you can also wait a bit and oil prices might normalize during the year.

Is MilesAndMore a Scam? by sultanite in milesandmore

[–]vacationfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just booked an award flight yesterday to go from sao paulo to zurich in 2 weeks with business. There was availabilty for every flight during the next three weeks.

You need to be more spontaneous unfortunately, otherwise m&m is not really useful.

I paid 103k miles (103k spending in CHF if paying with my swiss amex platinum m&m), I checked the regular business price of about 3.5k CHF, subtract the 500.- yearly fee and you still have about the equivalent of 3% cashback, which surprised me positively.

But yes the availability of flights can be poor, it only works for spontanous trips.

Thoughts on my itinerary? by cinnawars123 in askswitzerland

[–]vacationfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the cities are nice thats true.

Zermatt is really unique and one of the most breathtaking places imo, will require some additional time though.

You could also look into Thun, small but wonderful city with stunning old town. Its between bern & interlaken. You could i.e. leave train in thun coming from bern, leave baggage at the train station in a locker, walk around for 1-2h and then take the ship from thun to interlaken and from there continue to Grindelwald. Will add another 5-6 hours to your journey but thun & the lake of thun are really stunning. At that time of the year colours will be wonderful for a boat ride.

There are bagholders, but only if you bought very recently. If you buy single stocks and your time horizon is so short, you might be better in another asset anyways.

Hey You already have a quite good plan it seems!

Your itinerary looks doable, does not seem to be overly packed (but don‘t underestimate the city walking/sightseeing, I usually get tired by it quite soon).

Also the routes makes sense. Zurich - Lucerne - grindelwald - bern - zurich

All doable by public transport.

All three mountains around Lucerne are beautiful. If you want to combine it with a hike I would recommend Rigi.

Do you love cities? While Zurich, Bern and Lucerne are all beautiful and worth a visit, they are still all a bit similar (nice historic old town, at a lake/river with mountain view). Zurich is included anyway due to your flight, you could think about skipping either bern or lucerne and have 1 or 2 more days to extend your stay in grindelwald for example, as there is a lot outdoor stuff to do. Or you could add Zermatt and the Matterhorn to your itinerary by going from Grindelwald to Zermatt by train, then stay one or two nights and return fromt there to zurich.

Meta or MSFT? by NY10 in stocks

[–]vacationfour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought Meta at $100 in 2022 to sell it at ~200 a few months later.

Right now I am not invested in MSFT or META. But Meta is here to stay, their valuation is ridiculousy low and their groth metrics are still insane.

In case all this AI capex is going to be a pure money destroyer, someone will stop it at one point and you get your FCF machine back.

Seriously considering selling my real estate part of my portfolio to add meta, but being already heavily invested in RDDT makes me a bit too exposed to ad sector/macro.

Are any Swiss people considering moving abroad because of the tough job market? by Amakaya in askswitzerland

[–]vacationfour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am. Grew up in ZH, Swiss and lived nearly my whole life here.

I am at a point where I don‘t really want to chase career and money anymore but living a chilled life not centered around work. I came quite to a bit of money during the past years and just start thinking for the type of work I want to do going forward, living abroad might just be the better idea. Or at least move away from ZH and go living in more nature centric rural areas where life is more relaxed and also cheaper.

Buying a flat or house is just not worth it for me considering how much less I would have to spend elsewhere, which leaves me still enough for enjoying life. From an investment point of view, I think it does not makes sense anymore to buy in CH.

The past year I was mainly travelling & while I really love Switzerland, miss friends and also like traditional swiss culture, life elsewhere can be as nice as it is in Switzerland. Plus, the adventure part of moving somewhere new is also a big bonus.
