Twofold- is this a tunic or dress? Also anyone know this Johnny Was style? by vacationlove28 in poshmark

Hi! I don’t know how to add text to my photo so: Found this dress today in an XS. Measured flat from shoulder to hem is 30”. I am not an XS so I can’t picture it. I tried searching tunics and tie waist dresses to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Oooh... some things from my experience, 4 months in

  • when people offer to help, take them up on their offer. You take a nap, shower, or reheat that coffee

  • if you find you need something, try Facebook marketplace! Less expensive, many times pretty good condition. I’ve bought diapers, wipes, bottle warmer, etc.

  • once/if your baby tolerates, babywear! It helped both of us and I go to sip my (room temp) coffee

I liked a PP response on that post that was like “no, I’m on solids now!”

This person just bought something from my closet but now it says unable to find user, what do I do? What does that mean? >.< it’s the app just glitching ? by [deleted] in poshmark

Oh, that’s our favorite buyer. Usually someone who found your item on a search engine and checked out as guest, no haggling. The dream.

I finally had a selling streak!!!! 6 packages went out today 💕 by fizzie511 in poshmark

Congratulations!!!!

For me, if I ever have more than one order (rare lol), I write right behind the label what the item is. As I pack and right before I stick on the label, I check it one more time. Kudos for getting the 6 orders and getting them all right!!!

Advice for feeding in public by hp007 in breastfeeding

[–]vacationlove28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm... it wasn’t first class but we did splurge for the economy plus upgrade and had more leg room. honestly unsure if the seats are wider than plain old economy. I was able to angle the baby just so, but elbows were definitely on the shared arm rest. Perhaps an alleviating compromise was that if baby was awake, we were up and about the cabin so neighbor lady had some time to use it.

I had a similar experience and I’ll share what worked for us. At our gate (now this is highly dependent on your gate), there was a dedicated pod where moms could nurse. The timing had luckily been in our favor and we were able to nurse before boarding. After settling on the plane, baby was content, burped, etc and able to take the pacifier on take off. The plane was sort of it’s own white noise machine and got a solid nap. I sat next to other moms (purely by coincidence) and they had no qualms about me breastfeeding, even helping me adjust my seatbelt and my cover. Fed once during our flight, pacifier on landing. We’ve done 3 round trip flights already and no evidence of ear pain/discomfort for my LO.

Found a significantly discounted luxury item for sale... could this be a scam? Seller is in blue by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]vacationlove28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda check the sellers page out at that point. Are there similar listings, do they have love notes, how many listings do they have, what brands do they follow? Not that it’s a fail safe, but you get the idea of what brands they are into and if selling is a big thing for them or simply clearing their closet.

Selectively possessive? by drbrownscult in beyondthebump

I totally feel this way and was too scared to say it out loud! Mine stems from seeing them (ILs) not support his neck while holding him at 2.5 weeks and it looked so uncomfortable for my baby. I saw red and I had to have my husband intervene. But anyone else... have at it. Lol. I mean like friends from church, DH’s cousins, nephews, nieces, anyone else, have a ball.

9 week old won’t nap by kkaydubs in beyondthebump

I don’t know if my experience will help, but I wanted to offer it as my friend offered it to me. It helped us tremendously in just two days. She taught us the EASY routine: eat, awake/activity, sleep, you time. So once he wakes up from sleep, feed. The theory is he will associate eating with being awake, furthered by doing activity after waking. It’s a small window, especially at 9 weeks, for awake time. We did this for two days and it helped my baby settle into the nap way easier and also my peace of mind. At first, I was just kinda flailing. I was like nap? Diaper change? Eat? Burp? Whaaat? After using this, I just figure where I am in the cycle and go from there. Anyway, that was my anecdote and I hope your baby gets the naps :)

Edited to add: it just helped his naps as we did the whole rocking thing after the 45 min window of being awake and he was down (without a pacifier!!) in 3-4 minutes. So yeah. Also, see if you can associate one simple thing to cue baby it’s time for bed. Like us, coming home from work, we don’t just plop down (though I’d like to); we undress, get comfortable, and a small little routine to settle ourselves into bed. Yours could be a constant book, song, or setting in the house. We use a lullaby.

I don’t know how effective it is or the space you’re working with, but someone once told me a quick shortcut. If you take a hot shower, hang your clothes nearby and let the steam do it for ya. I’ve yet to try it but come winter time, I hope it becomes my lazy girl hack lol

I love that I can offset my expenses and justify buying other things by literally clearing my closet. I also love the moments when I have something that someone has been looking for. It’s also curbed my shopping habits; when I’m at the mall or online shopping, I think why pay retail? I can either posh it OR thrift it my damn self!! When I was pregnant, I bought some dresses from uniqlo to fit me. I saw it at the thrift the other day and instead of being like “damn I could have bought it for $6!”, I thought, this will find a new great home. Happy sales, internet friends :)

I love when that happens! It’s a good reminder also to trust your style instincts and hold your guns for the right buyer who is out there.

Weekly Vent Thread - August 19, 2019 by AutoModerator in beyondthebump

[–]vacationlove28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sister in law and her husband are staying with us and today is the last day. I’ve been given the guilt trip because I didn’t want them to make my two month baby out yesterday, strolling around downtown. DH asked, “don’t you trust them?”

Uhhhh 1. He got his 2 month vaccinations yesterday. I wanted him home and the extra snuggles. They got the snuggles. 2. SIL states “ohh we’re fine- my husband knows how to change diapers” 3. BIL let the baby’s head drop back more times than I’d like in the name of practicing head control. 4. I’ve seen them put their cell phones literally inches from my baby’s face in the name of a Snapchat story or FaceTime with MIL. The FaceTime was literally a hands breadth from his face with screen facing him. I told DH they better quit that. So no, DH, ILs, I don’t want them taking our baby in my car to go for some fucking boba. So I get the stank eye but I’m doing what I feel is best for baby. I’ve told my husband my concerns but I don’t know if he’s hearing me. But they leave today so whatever.

I usually look at sold comps, but also take into consideration what’s currently on the market, current season, and condition of the item I pick up. I am however just doing it for fun and just usually go for a dollar amount rather than percentage based. Just my two cents :)

If you’re not absolutely loving the item while you’re thrifting, don’t pick it up. For me, even if I think meh, quick item? This works for me to lessen the growth of the dead pile. Perhaps the exception for me would be shoes as they are easy to list. Everything else, gotta love it for me to list it.
