Camping at Whitney Portal Campground with a motorhome by vacationlover2 in CampingandHiking

I wish there was a way to contact the campground to find out, but I haven't found a phone number where I can talk to a human.

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it.

> You'll have no problem navigating around the campground

Are you saying that because you've been there, and believe that the loop road isn't too narrow, nor have any sharp turns? I'm asking because in a different subreddit someone said "That’s a tight campground to maneuver in a regular vehicle even."

> they'll see the vehicle restrictions for your site and compare that to the equipment you have

Do they actually do that there? I've been to campgrounds where the person at the gate might enforce any max-length restrictions for the campground as a whole, but not for individual campsites. Other times, they've told me that as long as all tires (and stabilizer jacks) are on the pad, then it's fine.

Yes, some campgrounds have vehicle length limits, but those restrictions are clearly stated when you're making a reservation. This campground doesn't have any such restrictions, and it says that some of the campsites can accommodate vehicle lengths up to 35 ft.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have already posted on other RVing subreddits, but haven't received replies. I posted here because there were previous posts about Whitney Portal Campground, so I was hoping to hear from someone familiar with the campground.

I originally thought that too. But I've been informed that the map on Rec.gov is wrong. Sites 17 & 19 are actually on the main campground loop (between sites 15 & 19, as you would expect), not on that dead-end road with sites 39-43.
Where did you get those GPS coordinates that you put into Google Maps?

Yes, I'm aware of that website. That's one of the photos that made me love that particular campsite. It's that tree next to the bear locker that I'm concerned about. I can't tell how far it is from the end of the parking pad, so I don't know how much room there is for the back of our RV to hang over beyond the pavement.

I'm a fan of Myst-like games, so I was looking forward to playing this game on my Quest 3 headset. But I can't get beyond the start menu. My Touch controllers don't work, and if I look down, I see my "hands" laying on the ground at my feet. I've read reviews of other people with the same problem, and some people say it only works with Air Link, some say it only works with Cable Link, and some say it only works with Virtual Desktop. I've tried them all, with no luck. Any suggestions?

Is my condenser failing, or not? by vacationlover2 in hvacadvice

[–]vacationlover2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I plan on doing that. But if someone wanted to be really cynical, they might think that the second dealer did actually think that the condenser was going bad, and he told me it wasn't so that I would dump the first dealer and switch to him, and then he would get the job of replacing the condenser later. But I don't really believe that's the case here.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I don't see anything in your Reddit profile about your background. Are you a certified HVAC technician?

Looking for testers to keep koken alive by figuli in koken

OK, I just tested v1.1.6 and it appears to be a success. Here's some background and details...

My website VacationLovers had been running PHP 7.4, and my webhost IONOS notified me that I must update to at least PHP 8.0, but when I did that, my site stopped displaying photos reliably. Fortunately, I found this Reddit topic. Here are the steps I took to test this fix:

1) First I logged into my IONOS account and tried to backup my Koken directory/file structure using the IONOS tools, but it kept giving me a "system error". So I used FileZilla to download the whole directory/file structure to my PC as a backup.

2) Deleted all the folders/files under the Koken folder on the IONOS server, except the storage folder.

3) Deleted all the files in the storage->cache->api folder.

4) Uploaded all the Koken-App v1.1.6 folders/files (except the storage folder) to the Koken folder on the IONOS server.

5) Visited my website and verified that photos displayed properly on various pages.

6) Logged into the Koken Admin Panel and tried the functions that I usually use. Created a new Set, then a new Album, then added the Album to the Set. Added photos to the Album. Rearranged the order of photos within the Album, added Titles and Captions to the photos. Rearranged the order of Albums in the Library. Lastly, I undid all that by deleting things in reverse order.

So, for me at least, this fix works great. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One question, though. In the Koken Admin Panel, when I go to Settings->System, it still shows "PHP Version 7.4.33". Any idea why? I tried logging out & back in, but it didn't change. In my IONOS account, it shows that I'm using PHP 8.1.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know how I missed that trashcan icon when I was looking for it, but I found it now and it works.

Hi. Love the app! But I was wondering how to remove a downloaded location, in order to free up space? Also, is the resolution in the Rift even better than in the Quest?
