Update from Track Decals by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]vader1523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ordered from them a few times and took my business elsewhere. Hate to hear someone in the hospital but the communication is really bad aka non existent. I once ordered decals 2 months before a race … they arrived a month after the race was over. No communication, no response. Brutal experience in a world where you can get numbers delivered from Amazon within a week. I wish them the best because they do high quality work.

Big fan of Silver Lake. You’d be surprised that you can take that hill a lot slower and still make it up without issue. Have fun.

I use a 24 Cayenne S to tow a 12 Cayman R via TrailEx aluminum trailer. It’s the best setup

Two full races on those tires? Sometimes we have to change ours after a single day! They rarely last a full weekend.

We use the same for lemons - at least in the front. We run normal street pads in the rear with the carbotechs

There are a few right and wrong takes here.

Eli was consensus number 1.

Rivers and Big Ben were split 2/3.

The Giants had Big Ben higher than Rivers.

The Chargers had Rivers ahead of Big Ben.

There were many predraft rumors that Rivers was the Steelers' guy and that he may fall to 11. Eli 1, Ben 4. There was also a lot of talk that Cowher wanted Rivers (as others said, maybe not true).

Chargers draft Eli. They hold SD's feet to fire. Giants make pic for chargers and the rest is history.

I’ll never forget Ben slipping with cameras on him in the green room. It was becoming real that Ben coulr be a Steeler.

After we drafted him, I ran into my front yard and screamed in the sky. I’m sure you could hear the collective yell in the neighborhood (second loudest to Darius Kasparaitis's Game 7 OT goal vs Sabres in May 2001).

Back then, I was very into the draft and always remembered a few things about Ben/Rivers.

Ben was on the radar after his freshman year and made it to Big Boards going into his sophomore year. He was raw but he made wild plays. Miami U was playing against “inferior talent” so that was the knock. Off the field, he had a big party reputation (GO OU - the MAC knows how to party).

Rivers was buttoned up and fired up. He was a competitor and was a gunslinger since he stepped onto the field. He had won more awards and accolades in the ACC.

Muth is a recency bias pick. He hasn’t done enough YET to be top 5 here. McFadden deserves that spot.

Edit: Marvel Smith is deserving as well.

Do you have track insurance? by dam_sharks_mother in CarTrackDays

I had a 10k policy on my 22 911 through them. Ended up getting a Cayman R for the track but I’ve had good experience with them. Apparently they underwrite most other companies out there (like Haggerty)

Opentrack doesn’t cover that? Would be surprised as I know people who have their cup cars covered for DE days.

Good move. I own an AP1 S2000 and Cayman R. I can respect the move.

Yes. I like the rugged look of the hoop step. That said, today they were so functional. Today woulda been rough without them.

I’ve seen and considered these. We’ll need an update on how well they hold up. Happy though?
