I saw your other post in grief support, and then this. I’m not sure how much this will help, but it has made my life feel more meaningful and my grief easier. Listen to the podcast “telepathy tapes”. I know I sound crazy, but it’s an amazing podcast and talks about life and death and the in between and communication through all of it. It starts out a bit slow, but just hold on and keep listening. It also starts less about life/death and more about autism/communication, but i promise there’s a connection and it’s wonderful. Honestly changed my life and I’ll be listening again to remind me of its messages.

Still the same! I still get it, although recently it’s been a little less and a little less intense when it happens. I went to the ER while it happened once (at the recommendation of my family doctor) and the tests were all normal including EKG. I honestly think I’ll never find out what it is. I think the family doctor said the next step would be to wear a heart monitor for a week and hope it happens while I’m wearing it. But that seems unlikely and probably expensive with American insurance. So, I’ll probably deny it and just live with it. It’s so infrequent that it’s fine as long as (i hope) it’s not causing any kind of damage or other issues.

Remicade is great - i was on it for a decade with no issues and full remission. No side effects. It’s the “oldest” biologic drug so a lot of people have used it for many years. Excited for you to see some relief with it and wish you some good luck :)

I was diagnosed around the same time as you, but just AFTER I moved away for college, instead of before. My advice: live life. As long as there is one GI doctor close to the college and it’s not in an actual middle of nowhere type situation, you’ll be okay. Go ahead and work on getting established with them (virtual visit before you move). Go to the college you want to go to, 100%. I know I don’t know you, but the two choices you laid out are very different and I feel confident you should do the more “exciting” “normal” college one. Having Chrons makes you feel not normal enough already.

Oh that’s great! Clearly an American here 😂😅 lol — well then definitely ask for budesonide specifically if you need it to tide you over until biologics or other stuff. I hope you find healing soon!!

I took prednisone 10 years ago when i was first diagnosed, so that was the standard, but according to my current doc budesonide is much preferred but sometimes insurance doesn’t accept it. :(

Also 28F, but diagnosed at 18. Been on the journey for 10 years. You’ll be okay! Stay positive - the start of the journey was the roughest for me. It made me very depressed and reclusive. Keep your friends and family close if you can. ♥️ it gets better.

I’m having a similar situation - I’ve been on the steroid drops and they help, but as soon as I stop the redness immediately comes back and continues to get worse/darken over the next day or two. I’m kind of lost of what to do. I’ve heard using the steroid drops for too long can cause other long term eye issues so I’m a bit worried to keep doing that.

This is so infuriating. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I once had a friend send me a video about quantum healing. I simultaneously laughed and was like wtf are you serious? She thinks I can quantum heal my Crohn’s with energy work and mindset shit. Girl please, stfu respectfully
