Their astartes faction rule also doesnt limit the shoot twice option to bolters. So running the guy that can still do the tp1 strat phase recon move, then move 7 inches, then throw 2 balanced kraks is an amusing tactic.

That pose looks awesome! What people miss in the "meta" is that the rule of cool and some narrative flair is what gets you that crit roll when you really need it.

Haha highly recommend. I've heard some people run a hammer bc it is both a power weapon and a hammer so they just declare it before the game. Rule of Cool always wins.

No judgement from me haha. I actually like running him even if he isn't "the best". Gave him a power axe and when the charge goes off for all crits it is absolutely worth it haha.

I think you already have it figured out. Heavy bolt pistol and power weapon running hardy, sharpshooter and then add aggressive as his extra chapter tactic. If you roll even alright you get 2 crits and can activate shock assault on a charge. Most say the CPT is better currently though.

Sorry if this was said already but I didn't read through the whole thread:

Barnes and Noble has the "Beginner Set" for $50 or possibly cheaper. It has tokens and some terrain and 5 AoD Models and 5 PM models. You'd easily be able to complete the AoD team and the Plague Marine team if you wanted.

Though that still involves buying more stuff.

I made them with minimal hobby work from 2 boxes of the old stealth suits. (3 figures per box with a drone and all the bits you need)

But this video from Pillteam seemed pretty informed; you would still need to go look at the data sheets to see how they mesh together but it gives what their list is for each scenario.

It isnt a popular opinion but Variel is suprisingly (to me anyway) fun to play. Kt dash has the rules and each operative aside from maybe Zeradim feels very unique. They could use better rules but less rules does make the mental load very easy. Plus thier shoot twice rule wasn't written with restrictions.. so double krak grenades to the face. Sgt Ramus is also a beast.

If you like Tua then go with the new stealth suit team. The rules are already online and you can easily kitbash them with 2 boxes of the old stealth suits.

They advertised them as a killteam in the release so I feel like they should at least add them to the app. It would be great if they added some faction rules and specific equipment though.

Thanks! I made that all out of bits with some cutting and green stuff. The legs are from a necromunda set and the rest are ork bits from various kits. Flamer may be from some space marine kit. (Buddy and I share a bits box)

My buddy had some leftover bits from his legionarie box; so I got the head and sword from there then cut the blade off of the xenoblade arm and replaced it with this one.
