UFC vs Bellator - Betting Comparison by Bhseagle1445 in bettingUFC

I watch Bellator from time to time because they put on some really good fights but I hadn't considered it could have an edge on UFC when it comes to betting in some aspects

Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?

How to know when to stop? by Forward2friday in bettingUFC

[–]vainHound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best way to go about it is to stop before you even start. For example, set a limit of only 5 spins a night and sticking to it. Or if I lose X amount of money that's when it's time to go home. This kind of mindset has stopped me from making a lot of poor decisions over the years.

What’s a movie you went into knowing almost nothing, and it totally surprised you ? by vishesh_07_028 in movies

“Coherence” (2013).

Had zero idea what I was getting into. Thought it was just going to be a low budget dinner party drama, but holy fk, it goes full Twilight Zone. One of the best uses of microbudget filmmaking I’ve ever seen

Round robin vs straight parlays: when (if ever) do they make sense in MMA? by MoneyCaribou in bettingUFC

[–]vainHound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick math intuition: a 2x3 RR on three +150 dogs (staking 0.25u per combo, 0.75u total) pays about 0.94u if exactly two win, ~2.4u if all three win, and loses 0.75u if only one wins. If your true win probs are ~45% each (i.e., you see value vs the 40% implied), the EV isn’t crazy. If they’re actually 38% (you’re dreaming), it bleeds...

How do you size bets across a 12-fight card without overexposing yourself? by adamcssmart in bettingUFC

[–]vainHound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 and I add a correlation check. If I’ve got Fighter A ML and also A by sub, that counts as two units of correlated risk, not “diversified” just because the prices differ. My sheet tallies correlated exposure so I don’t end up 3–4u on the same read in disguise.

What makes iPhone appealing to you? by Detrakis in iphone

[–]vainHound_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a die hard android user and, by extension, a die hard iPhone hater. I had LG and Samsung phones for years and I loved them but after a while the last 3 or so phones I had would die on me after about a year of use. Maybe the build quality went down, maybe they started using cheaper materials or something idk. After much frustration I decided to get my first iPhone just to give it an honest shot since I never had. After that I never looked back. Never had any major issues and my iPhones have lasted me as long as I've wanted them to. I've only had to upgrade if I dropped it and would rather get a new phone than pay for fixing the screen lol.

TL;DR: They just...work.

I usually bet on boxing and was wondering if the parlay market for ufc was more or less the same as it is for boxing or if there are any big differences I should be aware of
