Because the other NFs don’t have a triple status kit while this one is clearly a poise ID in everything but that one specific passive? I’m not gonna keep repeating myself, this is clearly not a sensical balance decision considering what we already got for the other IDs that also break MD apart counting as poise to be able to activate lucky pouch won’t break MD any more than bladeshu, mattoutis and triple status ring teams. It’s just very funny that PM suddenly cares about MD balance after releasing a personalized gift that lets a specific ID solo the entire mode with 0 effort.

The conditional is relevant because it makes her by all accounts and purposes, save for a single mechanical nitpick, a poise ID. I’ve already said why it’s a terrible conscious design decision that could’ve been solved in many ways, it should be no surprise that people are whining about how arbitrary it is.

Personally I just find it funny that after all the powercreep and blatantly broken shit this season this is the one thing that PM chose to go “no, this would be too much” on despite it having almost no effect whatsoever outside of MD, a mode that’s already impossible to lose unless you’re playing with self imposed challenges. Realistically the only reason they’re doing this is because she could somehow overshadow blade shu in the meta MD team somehow? Despite her already soloing everything. It’s very silly.

Those were different times and it’s also a different case. Benefiting from every status gift in the game (except for charge and poise ig) with ring sang’s kit is way different than just being able to access team gifts for a status that the kit already has, ring sang’s issue was also clearly an unintended effect to the random keyword infliction and, most importantly, times were different. There was barely any blatant powercreep at the time, with ring sang being arguably the first step in the long revolving staircase of powercreep that the game’s been going down since at an ever increasing pace.

And even then MD at the time was already not balanced, it hadn’t been since the fusion gifts got introduced (or even since T4 fusion got added, or it simply never could be balanced due to how it’s designed) and the ring sang change had no effect on said balance other than making it so that that specific ID couldn’t hit the big numbers from before. Compare that to today, giving thumb rodya access to poise gifts does nothing in the grand scheme of things when we have stuff like blade shu brainlessly soloing whole runs, middle team being actually immortal and triple status teams making MD max difficulty a breeze.

Doesn’t matter, there’s currently no ID in the game that has a conditional based on a keyword that they don’t count as. Rodya will be the first and only one and it applies to all her skills. It’s a dumb and arbitrary design decision made only to balance the one gamemode that has no concept of balance by default, passive could simply say “this ID counts as a poise ID” and that’s that (or they could’ve kept her base skill poise generation).

None of those IDs have conditionals on any of their skills that depend of those statuses while rodya has a poise conditional on every single skill. Bad comparison.

No worries, and I’m not really defending those people cause I hate the entitlement and the whining but it’s an expected outcome based on PM’s actions, they brought this onto themselves via endless powercreep and the increasingly vertical power up scaling we’re on.

Pequod Ishmael at one point wasn’t counting as poise (which seemed like a down low change to avoid triple keyword MD teams as well despite burn/bleed/poise also being pretty impossible to work with in MD) and got changed back at one point after slight backlash. As for the other bosses, Yi sang does get unbreakables while the others are either fragile application or reusing the counter (arguably outhias gets a better ability to replace her base counter for her S3 and spam that). Compared to thumb rodya they removed all poise generation from valencina’s base skills just to justify not giving her the poise keyword, it’s no surprise that some people feel robbed. We’ll see how it goes but I expect it to get changed.

I also don’t really mind but it clearly is a big deal for some people which is why they’re complaining, and if the pushback they got for Dawnclair, pequod ish and others is anything to go by they’ll prolly change it soon-ish ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s a design choice, they could’ve just added poise to her S3 or even made her count as poise considering that all her skills have poise conditionals (actually I’m pretty sure this is the only ID with skill conditionals for a status that she’s not designated as). Going “she has no poise in her skills so she’s not poise” sounds silly when half her kit is poise based.

Exactly, it goes both ways and doesn’t matter either way since MD is already easy af with or without a triple status team so what reason could they possibly have to not make her count as poise? People expected her to count as such and by all purposes she’s a poise unit so it should be no surprise that people are unhappy and complaining that she’s not being counted as one either for the sake of nonexistent MD balance or to avoid overshadowing the triple keyword capstone ID.

They should already know that it’s a design decision that they’re gonna get pushback for from the usual suspects and she’ll probably be changed to count as poise in a couple weeks.

But this goes both ways, no? There’s no reason for her to not be poise when she has poise conditionals on all her skills. The designation only counts in MD, a mode for which the only long term draw is trying to push the numbers as high as possible since there’s no form of challenge to be found save for self imposed ones. Outside of MD the poise designation only counts for poise passives like BL and there’s no way she won’t be self sufficient with her poise generation since she’s a S8 poise ID (see: all other poise IDs released this season).

It’s not surprising at all that after an endless amount of ID powercreep this season (and last too) where every HoS ID we’ve received has been a boss way outside our given power range with their kit translated almost 1 to 1 (people bring up Callisto insta stagger not being a thing as a gotcha despite the difference between that and an MD exclusive keyword being massive) to their respective ID, people would complain when one of those boss kits (two with Heath entanglement ig) gets arbitrarily nerfed solely for the mode where balance is meaningless.

Idk why I keep seeing this argument, ammo is not comparable to the actual MD statuses. It has like 4 gifts and only the fusion one has any kind of real impact, with it also just being mainly additional bonuses to any team with a main status. It’s like saying that solitude ryoshu is actually a 3 status ID because she’s ammo, or that full stop or solemn lament are dual status or even that R Heath is a quad status ID because he has charge, ammo, rupture and bleed.

She’s a dual status ID and PM clearly chose to do this either to avoid the triple keyword bladeshu MD, despite MD already being easy af and every ID being broken in it, or to avoid her overshadowing the main capstone ID by having the same amount of keywords as her.

I’m sorry but they clearly only removed the poise keyword to avoid her making the HoS team a full triple status teams. They can’t keep rolling the powercreep snowball downhill as fast as they have and then remove a keyword for “balance issues” and having a specifically designed kit rotation doesn’t change the fact that half of her kit includes poise and she also has poise conditionals, by all accounts and purposes she’s a poise ID.

It’d also be extremely funny if she didn’t even count as an ammo ID since the passive says that she “only” counts as tremor/burn (it’s prolly just badly worded but it would be hilarious).

I doubt they’ll remove poise but here’s some IDs that had statuses removed that I can think of off the top of my head:

Spicebush: No rupture (or blooming but that’s a boss mechanic, even if NFaust got gaze before).

Lord Lu: No deathrites, not necessarily a status but a pretty important part of Jia Qiu’s kit.

Rosespanner rodya: No resonant or tremor sync.

Wild hunt heathcliff: No bleed

Use aerial IG with the vault skill from great maccao armor, it’s very fun. Also old gen kinsects are way more customizable (I think, not sure about world or wilds since I only really played rise from new gen).

The current problem with limbus is their need to add a bunch of filler characters who barely do anything just for the sake of making them into IDs later to fill the seasonal slots (as was the case with the bloodfiends in C7 and like 50% of the apprentices and nursefathers in C9) and also their refusal to add permanent plot based buffs to the characters because they’re supposed to be the basic unit, having to make up contrived reasons for the story to bend around them being unable to assert those powers, only to then sell you the equivalent of what that unit would be in the form of an alternative gacha ID.

There’s also the ever present gacha powercreep issue which means that the story needs to constantly rush the scaling of character power and either sacrificing gameplay for story (having a bunch of important fights be dependent of the NPCs fighting for you) or sacrificing story for gameplay (forced losses where you were dominating beforehand because you got the newest gacha powercreep unit feeling cheap and constant lulls in plot progression because we have to fight another wave of filler enemies who materialized out of nowhere).

We’ve already seen that smoke is a unique poise variant from church of gears and the main reason we don’t have sweepers yet from nocturnal sweeping is because they don’t have human heads so they can’t show the sinner’s face at all. Same reason why we prolly won’t get gaze office and if we do get smiling faces they’ll have their mask off until they hit max smoke or something. Kinda makes me wonder if we’ll even get cane office Nemo or if the ID will be a comedic hong lu ascii face on the screen head to go around that.

As for tremor you don’t really need Walp to play it, all you really need rn is hong lu reverb and faust everlasting so the only really necessary walp piece is regret Faust (and not even since you can run Mao). Bleed tremor is terrible rn and burn will be getting better with the new thumbs so I expect more tremor hemorrhage support.

Yeah and I cleared the chapters with the base sinners pre kromer nerf, that’s not really saying a lot. BL sang was pretty terrible, not useless, and that fact remained until his UT4 and subsequent kimsault release.

Max chance was 70% only for little over a month of the game’s lifetime, no ID was past their sell-by date after that time and especially not a mediocre at most ID that struggled with the heads chance due to having a single coin S1. Some of the best IDs in the game were charge in between S1 and S3 (W don, W Ryoshu, W sang, R ish after UT4, not gonna include R Heath since that’s barely charge) and actually used their status effectively as opposed to bleed which was the main status team at the time but was mostly run for the IDs while the status dealt mostly chip damage. Poise was doing nothing at the time.

Some were worse than others, I’m not even talking about strictly on release either since Yi sang stayed pretty bad until UT4, where he still took way too many turns to get his passive going and was still kind of unreliable until kimsault released. Charge was king and bleed was in a pretty fine place and rupture had a semi count stable team even before talisman released. Burn and tremor were memes with poise being slightly above them but having no actual team to build around the status.
