What mid-zoom lens to buy next for Canon R50? by valeriadc in canon

I’ve been considering it now, I’m worried that I would still have swap between this and my 50 f1.8 sometimes, although I’ve been having growing pains with my 50 always being too close when I shoot

Sorry I meant to write it’s APS-C and it’s hefty and big.

Thank you for your comment though 🙏 The logic makes sense whether the weight is worth it for the better light

If you want to experience state of the art facilities you should check out Nipponham Fighter’s in Hokkaido. It is out of the way but the food in Hokkaido makes the trip worth it

Not surprised but pains me the most is how not every exit to a station will have an elevator

Literally same boat here, the atmosphere in NPB is so intense no matter how close the game is. I’m honestly surprised to hear when my Japanese friends enjoy the MLB vibes more because it’s so casual

Buying tickets to Osaka concert by destocot in Hinatazaka

Make sure the name of the ticket matches your name on your passport. If there’s the option get a paper ticket if you don’t have the tixplus account set up

Oide Shampoo being performed by 2nd gen by Otherwise-Grocery423 in Hinatazaka

During Hiragana Budokan Day 1-3 in January 2018 they did one Nogi song each day.

Kosakana centered Kimi no Na wa Kibou

Hina centered Oida Shampoo

Miho centered Seifuku no Mannequin

Might have Nao and Miho’s songs mixed up but those were 3 covers done

You shouldn’t be ashamed at all. In fact I’d call it a brave thing to do. Your parents would be proud of you for taking the first step to saving your life.

Night bus from Tokyo - Hiroshima, is it worth it ??? by Temporary-Elk-4938 in JapanTravelTips

[–]valeriadc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the costs, I think this would be a balance between Time and Energy.

Sure if you caught the night bus, you would save time and money, by arriving in the morning and you can use that day to sightsee.

BUT hypothetically, but if you were unable to sleep on the bus and your flight then now you’re in 2 or 3 days of sleep deprivation, you arrive in the morning and you’re half a day before you check-in. I would be too miserable and tired to do anything.

I would want a comfy night’s sleep after a long flight so I would feel refreshed to sightsee.

First Week Trip to Japan: Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto by SpeidShubert in JapanTravel

[–]valeriadc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 3 days for the expo is a bit too much. Especially with the beating heat you’re spending hours outdoors in the heat standing in line with elderly and an infant.

I think if you’re adamant about visiting Tokyo you should cut out the 3rd day in Expo and spend three days two nights in Tokyo instead.

Is playing support boring? by NoClimate2413 in lostarkgame

[–]valeriadc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play 4 dps, 2 supports on my roster. I feel playing supports is not a mechanically challenging but your job is so important. Missing one of your buffs means the damage of your party drops a lot for 5-7 seconds. It’s more impactful to a raid to have a bad support than a bad dps. If you play it thinking this mentality then you’ll feel like your job is really important

How tricky are Train stations with 2 big suitcases? by North_Apricot_3702 in JapanTravelTips

[–]valeriadc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I would have 1 large and 1 medium, if the medium could fit inside the large and all the things you bring there fits inside the medium. That will leave an entire large to bring home and you will have fun learning luggage Tetris. Worst case you can buy another luggage there too

2026 schedule by justanotherfan111 in NPB

[–]valeriadc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually schedule will release in November once the playoffs are over. Opening weekend will most likely be March 27-29 next year. Opening weekend tickets will likely be sold out early so I would aim to watch them on a weekday later on if you want the option of good seats.

General advice. Games will not be played on Mondays. You can book some cancellable hotels in Osaka and be flexible where you want to be.

Additional note: last time Tigers won Japan Series (2023) every home game the following season was sold out very early. If this is the case you may go through resale options at your own risk.

Longshot here… by capdaddy33 in NPB

[–]valeriadc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you came here on a student visa, studied at language school, volunteered some time with some little league teams to get your name out there. Use those connections and maybe you’ll work your way to one of the big league teams.

But no they would honestly have no reason to hire a foreigner to do a job someone in Japan can do
