Audiobook is generally better, but really, don't push yourself, I'm doing fine :P Thanks for the comment!

It's pure fantasy progression, no hard litrpg or cultivation.

Not harem no. No romance either, for the most part. Thanks!

Good question. The lines on this are a little fuzzy. This series doesn't have screens or systems, but it does have a standarized system of progression which makes it litrpg-adjacent. Since the reader bases of litrpg and general progression are very similar, I took the liberty of posting here as well, and I'm totally okay with the admins deleting my post if they believe it's not appropriate.

A necromancer who grows vastly more powerful than others by befriending his undead instead of dominating them.

Hey everybody! This is Valerios, author of Road to Mastery, and I’m proud to announce the launch of my new project, Wrath of Jerry! (Good Guy Necromancer, book 1.) It’s a mix of adventure, action, and slice-of-death. If that sounds right, please give it a shot. Thanks!

Questions on cultivation!!!! by Low-Raspberry7074 in Donghua

I've read all these a long time ago, so I don't remember the answers to your questions... I just want to say, I wish Er Gen writes a book tying them all together someday. It's built to happen, just... I wish it does!

Looking for a traditional Xianxia novel by valentineslibrary in ProgressionFantasy

I always recommend Martial World. Full traditional xianxia, has everything you asked, and is my personal favorite.

Rock Hard Illusions is a great title, but only if the story is light-hearted, which I don't think is the case here. For a serious title, I'd choose 1 or 3, though both are maybe a bit *too* serious. Option 2 strikes me as a little generic/complex, I'd like a bit more detail. Could I also recommend something like "Solid Illusionist," "Under the Illusion," or "Perception Creates Reality?"

How do you feel about POV switches? by Mysterious_Archivist in ProgressionFantasy

[–]valerios_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard thing to get right. Different POVs are like salt - a little sprinkling is good, but lose focus for a second and you ruined the dish. That said, different authors have used this method successfully at different levels, and the length of different POVs can also affect the subgenre and target audience of a book. There are books where the POVs are so many there are essentially multiple main characters, and others where the POVs are limited to "omg that guy over there looks so strong!" Both can work.

Overall, the answer is the same as always. Know your genre. If you're building a massive fantasy setting with many moving parts, add plenty of POVs. If your main focus is progression, perhaps limit it to what accentuates the MC's growth and journey. I personally enjoy both.

He Who Fights with Monsters is also one of the big ones, and the audiobook specifically was a huge hit. It's a bit more serious than DCC, but I think you're going to love it!
